Memberships are $50.00 for individual memberships and
$65.00 for a family membership per year.
BRAT’s point season will run May through April. BRAT
will have 12 point jackpots per year. Members must attend at least
50% (6) of the 12 BRAT approved functions to be eligible for
year-end awards.
Members are not required to work at the jackpots.
Members who volunteer to work at the jackpots will be placed in the
standings for Biggest BRAT. Please note this rule can change at any
time subject to help from the Biggest BRAT’s.
No abusive treatment of horses, other contestants or
spectators is allowed. You will be given one warning and on the 2nd offence you will be asked to leave. This behavior will not be
tolerated.
BRAT will keep members informed by monthly e-mails.
Flyers and changes will be posted on ebarrelracing.com on our
association page. Important: if you do not have e-mail please
let a director know & give us an emergency contact number.
Appropriate attire must be worn at all BRAT approved
barrel races. No shorts or sweat pants are permitted.
The Open 5-D format will be as follows: 1D – Fastest
time of the race; 2D – Fastest time plus ½ second; 3D – fastest
time plus 1 second; 4D – fastest time plus 1 ½ seconds; 5D –
fastest time plus 2 seconds. The Youth 3-D format will be as
follows: 1D – Fastest time of the race; 2D – Fastest time plus a
second; 3D – Fastest time plus 2 seconds.
Open & Youth points will be awarded on a point
system with points moving down to the next placing BRAT member.
Point standings will be available at each monthly jackpot & on
BRAT’s association page on ebarrelracing.com.
Contestant will receive a No Time for knocking
down a barrel, breaking the pattern, intentional pulling up or
breaking forward motion of your horse during the class.
Youth age is 15 & under as of May 1st of the current season year. Proof of age must be verified by a
director.
No refunds will be given after class has started.
Please don’t ask.
Entries will stay open until the last 25 horses run.
You may enter as many horse/rider combinations as you
want. However, you must pick your point horse before you run -
if you do not pick the point horse before you run you will receive
the lowest set of points.
Reruns will only be allowed if timekeeper fails to get
time due to a clock malfunction. The contestant then has the option
to rerun or to have their money refunded.
Checks will be accepted but cash is preferred. Any NSF
checks given to BRAT must be paid in cash before contestant will be
allowed to participate in any BRAT functions. If payment isn’t
paid all BRAT points will be forfeited. A $25.00 return check fee
will be assessed.
Acquiring either donations and/or sponsors will entitle
a member to receive the BRAT Bounty; please contact a director for
details.
The show’s directors will address any questions or
disputes that may arise during the show not covered by the rules
above. The decision of Directors is final.
