2009 NBHA TEXAS 08 By-Laws

As a director she will handle all class points, scheduling of shows, handle all issues

within the district, answer any questions or concerns regarding our club and make sure

all members follow the rules by Nationals and with the districts own by-laws.

 

District 08 strives to provide fairness and equality before, during and after all shows. Shows will be abided by the rules established by the N.B.H.A.; a few will be amended in the District 08 by-Laws. It is the memberŐs responsibility to be familiar with all National and District Rules. Our District Director has the right to add any by-laws as needed. It is up to the member to read their newsletter for changes and updates.

 

Each member is responsible to provide NBHA card and current Coggins at shows. Every arena will require current Coggins for the Texas Animal Commission for viewing. Our association succeeds through its people, and our people will commit themselves to the associationŐs vision and to unselfish teamwork while striving to achieve personal performance levels that result in nothing less than excellence.

We are an organization that caresÉfor our members and for each other. We will treat one another with respect and with a caring attitude, knowing that our collective value is the key to our total success.

Barrel Runs/ Paybacks

Entry sign-ups shall be conducted orderly by contestants forming one line. Once a draw is made for specific horse and rider it shall not be changed.

There will be no practicing around the barrels during open arena time. If repeated warnings are issued, the rider will be assessed a penalty.

If a barrel is knocked over during a run, a no time will be issued, no points will be awarded and prize money will not be paid. (Touching a barrel is permitted)

Contestants must attempt to make the fastest run possible. Any obvious attempt to Ňpull upÓ or pace their run may result in A no time.

The announcer and timekeeper must be at least thirteen. Neither shall be interrupted during a class. If an announcement is needed please tell the secretary or submit it in writing.

During the Barrel classes there will be only one circling of each Barrel. No re-circling allowed due to unfairness of other contests in the same drag. There will be a fifteen-dollar penalty for re-circling a barrel during a class.

Any rules not covered in these By-laws will be in the NBHA Rules.

Open Barrels:

Open will be run in a 4-D format. A minimum of twenty dollars from each entry fees is to be paid out. The total payout of the entry fees from the class is to be divided as follows:

 

4D Payout = 35% to the 1-D, 30% to the 2-D, 20% to the 3-D, 15% to the 4-D

Youth Barrels:

18 & under barrels will be ran in the 3-D format which is full second splits. Twelve dollars of each entry fee will be paid out, Age is determined by January 1, 2009

Senior Barrels:

50 and over will be run in the 3-D format, which is full second splits. Twelve dollars of each entry fee will be paid out. Age 50 and over may run the senior class. Member must be 50 years old or older to run in the class.

 

Ties

In the event of a tie, District 08 will break the tie as follows:

The rider that has entered and competed the most in the class throughout the year. If a tie remains after the above, the rider with the most 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. until the tie is broken. If the tie still remains after all of the above, the rider with the most completed runs.

Exhibitions

We will call out riders name three times within one minute, if you are not ready when called by the third time your exhibition will be scratched. There will be a 60 second limit on exhibitions. A five-dollar penalty will result for going over 60 seconds. Fee must be paid before Class times count.

 

Points of Interest

We are scheduling at least 12 shows for this year. All shows will go toward district points. At least six shows will be sanctioned for World qualifying points.

Points will be kept on all shows for year-end awards. Every member must compete 60% of shows, which are 7 jackpots*** It is a memberŐs responsibility to know rules and keep up with points/shows.

Added Money

All added money will be divided equally in each division.

Rescheduling of Jackpots

If you are in question about weather/arena conditions, please call before you haul. We will still have a show when it is raining as along as the arena is covered.

Late Entries/Call-ins

No contestants are allowed to call in to be entered in a class or exhibitions. Entries must be paid before # is drawn, if the contestant does not make it in time for their run, no entry fees will be refunded.

***Work Hours / Year End District Awards Qualifications

A minimum of 6 work hour must be earned

To qualify for year end district awards members must compete in 7 shows

Year End District Awards will be awarded to

Open Barrels- 1-2-3-4DŐs, Youth 1-2-3-DŐs, Senior 1-2-3-DŐs

To qualify for these classes you must have competed in the class(es) at a minimum of 7 shows. Awards for each class will be determined by money brought in by that class.

Others may work for you as long as you are at the jackpot when they are working and your name is on the worksheet.

Your own work requirements must be must before you may work for anyone else.

Must complete one fundraiser – Fundraiser equals selling 25 raffle tickets.

All requirements must be met to qualify for District Awards.

 

***Additional District Points

For every 10 raffle tickets sold above the required 25 you will receive 1 point towards district points up to 10 points for the year. (10 points will be given for 100 raffle tickets sold). Example 25 raffle ticket sold = 0 points, 35 raffle tickets sold = 1 point, 100 raffle tickets sold = 10 points.

Points will be but towards a single D in the open 4D only, were the member has standings in the open 4D. Points will not be split between DŐs even if member has points in more than one D and or rides more than one horse.

Members who do not sell raffle tickets to obtain all 10 points can obtain a cash donation of $125.00 to receive 10 points for yearend district points. All cash donations must be turned in by November 1, 2009.
