{"id":1033,"date":"2007-05-16T01:34:54","date_gmt":"2007-05-15T18:34:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ebarrelracing.com\/articles\/?p=1033"},"modified":"2007-05-16T01:34:54","modified_gmt":"2007-05-15T18:34:54","slug":"national-cowgirl-museum-and-hall-of-fame-turns-five","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ebarrelracing.com\/articles\/industry\/national-cowgirl-museum-and-hall-of-fame-turns-five\/","title":{"rendered":"National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame turns five"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Media contact: Danny Latham, Jr.<br \/>\nOffice: 817\/509-8991<br \/>\nMobile: 817\/715-2868<br \/>\ndlatham@cowgirl.net<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Cowgirl Shin-Dig<br \/>\nNational Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame turns five<br \/>\nand hosts a Colossal Cowgirl Celebration on Saturday, June 2 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Fort Worth, TEXAS <\/em>\u00e2\u20ac\u201c A party is brewing at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame and it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s going to be big.\u00c2\u00a0 On Saturday, June 2 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame is throwing a free family festival honoring five years since its new building opened and everyone is invited to attend.\u00c2\u00a0 Museum admission will be free all day and there will be plenty of activities going on inside and outside the Museum for the entire family to enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2002, cowgirl spirit filled Fort Worth\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Cultural District when the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame opened a brand new building near the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History and the Will Rogers Memorial Center.\u00c2\u00a0 Since that time, children and adults from across the globe have visited the Museum and heard incredible stories of courage, determination and strength about women who possessed the pioneering spirit of the American West.<\/p>\n<p>In saying \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Thank you\u00e2\u20ac\u009d to Fort Worth for welcoming cowgirls into the city, the Museum has invited National Cowgirl Hall of Fame honorees, trick ropers, a chuck wagon chef and others to help celebrate this remarkable date in the Museum\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s history.<\/p>\n<p>Check out some of the events lined up:<br \/>\nAt 11 a.m. Pam Minick, 2000 National Cowgirl Hall of Fame honoree, kicks-off the festivities.<\/p>\n<p>Cowgirl poet Teresa Burleson shares Western tales in rhyme followed by the Cowtown<\/p>\n<p>Opry Saddle Gals harmonizing melodic tunes about cowgirls.<\/p>\n<p>Yodeling mini-workshop and contest.<br \/>\nStory teller Dee Cee Cornish whips up tall tales about life in the Old West.<\/p>\n<p>Mitzi Lucas Riley, 1996 National Cowgirl Hall of Fame honoree, and Garlene Paris, daughter of Velda Tindall Smith, 2003 National Cowgirl Hall of Fame honoree, will reminisce about their younger years as \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Rodeo Rascals\u00e2\u20ac\u009d while out on the rodeo circuit with their mothers.<\/p>\n<p>Taste delicious treats made from scratch in an authentic chuck wagon.<\/p>\n<p>Radio Disney on-site from noon to 3 p.m. with fun games and giveaways.<\/p>\n<p>J.W.
