In his book, Jennings, executive director of publications for the American Quarter Horse Association, features photographs and expressive text for 15 ranches and the horses these operations rely on for everyday tasks.<\/p>\n<p>AQHA has been recognizing outstanding ranches for their hard work in raising American Quarter Horses since 1992.  Some of the featured ranches include Babbitt Ranches of Arizona, Lacey Livestock Company of California and Douglas Lake Cattle Company of British Columbia.  This award is given by AQHA and Bayer Animal Health, and it was created to honor the contributions that ranch horses have made to evolve today\u2019s American Quarter Horse, an important tool of America\u2019s western frontier.<br \/>\nJennings is the author and photographer of the award-winning book catering to horse-lovers, cowboys and western enthusiasts. A resident of Amarillo, Texas, Jennings has been writing about and photographing American Quarter Horses for more than 35 years.<\/p>\n<p>Many people today still romanticize about the great American West, including the cowboys, horses and cattle drives that epitomize western movies.
