{"id":132,"date":"2005-08-16T23:03:45","date_gmt":"2005-08-16T16:03:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ebarrelracing.com\/articles\/?p=132"},"modified":"2005-08-16T23:04:59","modified_gmt":"2005-08-16T16:04:59","slug":"zotob-worm-finds-its-path-limited","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ebarrelracing.com\/articles\/computer\/zotob-worm-finds-its-path-limited\/","title":{"rendered":"Zotob worm finds its path limited"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A new worm that was unleashed over the weekend affects only a limited group of Windows users and has not wreaked any widespread havoc, according to Trend Micro.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As of Monday morning on the West Coast, the original Zotob.A had infected about 50 computers worldwide, and the first variant, Zotob.B, had compromised about 1,000 systems, the antivirus software maker said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There are not that many infections,&#8221; said David Perry, director of global education at Trend Micro.<\/p>\n<p>The worm, which has spawned at least two variants, exploits a hole in the plug-and-play feature in the Windows operating system.
