{"id":156,"date":"2005-09-08T00:09:20","date_gmt":"2005-09-07T17:09:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ebarrelracing.com\/articles\/?p=156"},"modified":"2005-09-08T00:11:47","modified_gmt":"2005-09-07T17:11:47","slug":"yahoo-accused-of-hosting-thousands-of-phishing-sites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ebarrelracing.com\/articles\/computer\/yahoo-accused-of-hosting-thousands-of-phishing-sites\/","title":{"rendered":"Yahoo! accused of hosting thousands of phishing sites"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Anti-spam group Spamhaus says Yahoo! won&#8217;t take them down&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By Dan Ilett<\/p>\n<p>Yahoo! is hosting thousands of fraudulent websites that have domain names containing the words &#8220;bank&#8221;, &#8220;PayPal&#8221; or &#8220;eBay&#8221;, according to a leading anti-spam group Spamhaus.<\/p>\n<p>Spamhaus claims Yahoo! is hosting almost 5,000 domain names using these words, many of which are linked to phishing scams.<\/p>\n<p>Richard Cox, CIO at Spamhaus, said: &#8220;They are hosted on Yahoo! I just took three hot words, but there are dozens of others including misspellings.
