{"id":1688,"date":"2008-10-03T00:40:04","date_gmt":"2008-10-02T17:40:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ebarrelracing.com\/articles\/?p=1688"},"modified":"2008-10-03T00:41:20","modified_gmt":"2008-10-02T17:41:20","slug":"aqha-announces-new-opportunity-for-members-to-propose-rule-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ebarrelracing.com\/articles\/industry\/aqha-announces-new-opportunity-for-members-to-propose-rule-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"AQHA Announces New Opportunity for Members to Propose Rule Changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>America\u2019s Horse, September 30, 2008<\/em> \u2013 The American Quarter Horse Association Nominations &amp; Credentials Committee and Executive Committee recently approved the use of a Rule Change Proposal Form by members who want to submit proposed rule changes for the AQHA Official Handbook.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&#8220;AQHA members play an important role in influencing positive change in the Association,\u201d said AQHA Executive Vice President Bill Brewer. \u201cThis opportunity allows members\u2019 voices to be heard by proposing new rules or changes to existing rules.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Rule Change Proposal Forms will be available online at \/<a href=\"http:\/\/www.aqha.com\/passthrough\/pdf\/rulechangeproposalform_fillable.pdf\/\">http:\/\/www.aqha.com\/passthrough\/pdf\/rulechangeproposalform_fillable.pdf\/<\/a>. All proposals are due by December 31, 2008. Meritorious proposed rule changes will then be assigned to the respective committee(s) and included on AQHA\u2019s Web site with an invitation for members to submit comments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">AQHA asks that members take the following steps when writing a proposal:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Define the problem and develop as many possible solutions as you\u00a0can by asking others for input.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Choose one possible solution that appears to be the most\u00a0appropriate and that fits the mission and goals of AQHA.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Determine if any other rules would be affected if your proposal\u00a0were to be adopted, and specify the rule numbers.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Submit proper wording for a proposed rule change by typing or\u00a0neatly printing the exact wording being proposed. If you propose\u00a0changes to existing language, strike through the words you propose\u00a0\u00a0to delete. Type in <strong><em>bold and italics<\/em><\/strong> the words you propose to add.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">AQHA news and information is a service of AQHA publications.
