{"id":2390,"date":"2009-07-02T08:06:37","date_gmt":"2009-07-02T01:06:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ebarrelracing.com\/articles\/?p=2390"},"modified":"2009-07-02T08:06:54","modified_gmt":"2009-07-02T01:06:54","slug":"during-the-vesicular-stomatitis-vs-outbreak","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ebarrelracing.com\/articles\/industry\/during-the-vesicular-stomatitis-vs-outbreak\/","title":{"rendered":"During the vesicular stomatitis (VS) outbreak:"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">If you plan to haul Texas equine animals to New Mexico, be sure the certificate of veterinary inspection<br \/>\nis issued within\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">seven days<\/span> prior to arrival in that state. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <\/span><\/strong> New Mexico updated their\u00a0vesicular stomatitis requirements Tuesday, June 30.\u00a0\u00a0 (When Texas is free of vesicular stomatitis,<br \/>\ncertificates of veterinary inspection will again be valid for 30 days for Texas equine animals entering New Mexico.)<\/p>\n<p>For ALL livestock entering New Mexico, the New Mexico state veterinarian requires the following statement<br \/>\non the certificate of veterinary inspection:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThe animals represented on this CVI (health certificate) have not originated from a premises or<br \/>\narea under quarantine for vesicular stomatitis (VS), or a premises on which VS has been diagnosed<br \/>\nin the past 21 days. I have examined the animals and have found no clinical signs of VS.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You must have an entry permit, issued by the New Mexico Livestock Board, if you are transporting<br \/>\nlivestock to New Mexico from a county with vesicular stomatitis. (Currently in Texas, vesicular stomatitis is<br \/>\nlimited to STARR COUNTY in far south Texas.)\u00a0 The entry permit may be obtained at no<br \/>\ncharge by calling the New Mexico Livestock Board at 505-841-6161.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you plan to haul Texas equine animals to New Mexico, be sure the certificate of veterinary inspection is issued within\u00a0seven days prior to arrival in that state.
