To stress the importance of ethics in the equine industry, the American Quarter Horse Association of Professional Horsemen\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s third annual business workshop will devote an entire afternoon to that very topic.<\/p>\n<p>Featured speakers for the workshop, which will be held Friday, March 3 from 1-5 p.m. at the Westin Hotel in Seattle in conjunction with AQHA\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Annual Convention, include:<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7        Ray Paulick, editor of Blood-Horse magazine<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00b7        Dr. Jerry Black, noted veterinarian and member of AQHA\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Public Policy Committee and past president of the American Association of Equine Practitioners<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00b7        Rachel McCart, attorney and owner of Equine Legal Solutions<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00b7        Vince Genco, managing partner of Pacific Airlift Inc., an international livestock transportation company.<\/p>\n<p>A roundtable discussion and exercise to develop a code of ethics for horse sales will conclude the workshop.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153This is a topic that is vital for professional horsemen to address,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said AQHA Executive Vice President Bill Brewer. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153One deal that goes sour can undermine one of the key points in AQHA\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s mission statement \u00e2\u20ac\u201c to promote ownership and growth of AQHA membership.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I think we have the greatest group of professionals, and it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s exciting to see them take steps to ensure that they continue conducting their business transactions with the highest degree of integrity.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>The American Quarter Horse Association of Professional Horsemen was formed in 1993 and comprises nearly 900 professional trainers who are dedicated to providing outstanding service to the American Quarter Horse industry, including abiding by a code of ethics and dealing with the public with the highest integrity. These professionals are part of AQHA\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 4aHORSE referral program, a service designed to connect people to reputable trainers, breeders and other equine service providers.
