Born and raised in Ireland, Lyons was introduced to race horses by an uncle who was a horse owner. His interest was enhanced by his mother who took him to local tracks such as Phoenix Park and Fairyhouse. His greatest success as a conditioner came with the filly Desert Stormer, who won the 1995 Breeders\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Cup Sprint. Lyons became a TVG analyst after being discovered during a television interview at Hollywood Park. In addition to his on-air analyst role, Lyons is a regular on TVG special programs such as the popular \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The Works\u00e2\u20ac\u009d show.<\/p>\n
