{"id":440,"date":"2006-05-20T22:10:52","date_gmt":"2006-05-20T15:10:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ebarrelracing.com\/articles\/?p=440"},"modified":"2006-07-18T22:04:47","modified_gmt":"2006-07-18T15:04:47","slug":"aqha-contest-winners-get-chance-at-national-handicapping-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ebarrelracing.com\/articles\/industry\/aqha-contest-winners-get-chance-at-national-handicapping-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"AQHA CONTEST WINNERS GET CHANCE AT NATIONAL HANDICAPPING COMPETITION"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Amarillo, Texas, May 20, 2006 <\/em>\u00e2\u20ac\u201c The American Quarter Horse Association will offer handicappers an opportunity to earn berths to the $800,000 Daily Racing Form \/ National Thoroughbred Racing Association National Handicapping Contest VIII with a series of online handicapping contests.<\/p>\n<p>The winner of each contest earns a spot to compete at the DRF\/NTRA NHC VIII to be held January 26-27, 2007 at Bally&#8217;s in Las Vegas, Nevada.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, nearly 100,000 racing fans entered Daily Racing Form\/NTRA National Handicapping Championship qualifying contests with 226 finalists qualifying for a trip to Las Vegas and the chance to earn a share of more than $500,000 in total prize money.<\/p>\n<p>The first AQHA online handicapping competition is the Dash To The Challenge, Friday, May 19 through August 11.  This contest consists of a series of MBNA America\u00c2\u00ae Challenge Regional races held in conjunction with regional race weekends at Delta Downs, Les Bois Park, Sam Houston Race Park and Prairie Meadows.<\/p>\n<p>AQHA\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s second berth to the DRF\/NTRA NHC VIII will be presented to the winner of the All American online contest which is held September 2 &#8211; 4, 2006.
