{"id":5626,"date":"2012-06-05T11:28:50","date_gmt":"2012-06-05T04:28:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ebarrelracing.com\/articles\/?p=5626"},"modified":"2012-06-05T11:28:50","modified_gmt":"2012-06-05T04:28:50","slug":"apha-magazines-rise-to-top-of-equine-publishing-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ebarrelracing.com\/articles\/industry\/apha-magazines-rise-to-top-of-equine-publishing-industry\/","title":{"rendered":"APHA magazines rise to top of equine publishing industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Paint Horse Journal wins coveted American Horse Publications General Excellence award; Paint Horse Connection and Paint Horse Racing also take top honors.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>FORT WORTH &#8211; The American Paint Horse Association\u2019s family of publications\u2014Paint Horse Journal, Paint Horse Connection and Paint Horse Racing\u2014received top industry honors June 2 at the American Horse Publication\u2019s Annual Awards Contest, which took place at the 2012 AHP Seminar in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. The APHA editorial, design and marketing teams earned 12 awards, which included five first-place plaques.<\/p>\n<p>The Paint Horse Journal rose to the top of its publication class, winning the coveted General Excellence, Association Publication Circulation Under 15,000 award. The Journal last won this prestigious title for its work in 2004.<\/p>\n<p>The General Excellence category judges recognized the Journal\u2019s \u201cgood balance of show and non-show coverage should appeal to many interests. There is excellent World Show coverage, especially the lead-in feature and the feature photos. Great Rides is a wonderful idea. Both back-page photos were clever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>APHA\u2019s member magazine, Paint Horse Connection, earned its inaugural first-place award, along with a pair of second-place titles.
