Then grab your hat and boots on Saturday, Oct. 7 and head to Bertram, Texas \u00e2\u20ac\u201c one hour west of Austin, Texas or two hours northwest of San Antonio, Texas \u00e2\u20ac\u201c for <em>Cowgirl 101<\/em>, the hands-on, western education experience offered by the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Cowgirl University. <em>Cowgirl 101<\/em> starts at 9 a.m. and wraps-up at 4 p.m. at Colbert Ranch, a beautiful 250-acre guest ranch Texas\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Hill Country.<\/p>\n<p><em>Cowgirl 101<\/em> features hands-on educational sessions designed for those with little or no horse experience desiring to learn western activities. Getting on a horse is just the beginning. The day activities include:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Basic horse care<br \/>\nTrail rides<br \/>\nRoping lessons<br \/>\nHorsemanship<br \/>\nChuck wagon cooking demonstration with lunch<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Also, participants will meet 1988 National Cowgirl Hall of Fame Honoree Hope Varner and listen to her cowgirl story. Varner, a talented western musician, has been a promoter of western culture for more than 50 years and produced rodeos with her family.<\/p>\n<p><em>Cowgirl 101<\/em> began in the fall of 2005 at a private North Texas ranch, offering a full day of workshops in western culture for beginners. As \/Cowgirl 101\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \/popularity grew, more people wanted to participate (classes limited to 30 people). So the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame decided to take it on the road.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DETAILS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Offered through Cowgirl University, the experiential education program by the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, \/Cowgirl 101\/ is a great introduction to the western lifestyle through fun and safe activities.
