Originally created as a futurity incentive, the program has changed to instead promote aged geldings that are 4 years old and older as of Jan. 1, 2007. Each of the 11 approved APHA Zone shows and three international shows will offer $3,000 in added money throughout the year, for an annual payout of $42,000.<\/p>\n<p>Awarded through APHA\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s High-Point Performance calculation system, the new Gelding Plus program provides the owners of these horses an opportunity to compete for bonus incentives through one of three options designated by each individual Zone Show Committee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2007 Gelding Plus Award Options<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>One Division<\/strong><br \/>\n$3,000 Regular Registry Show High Point Performance<br \/>\nGelding Plus Award<\/p>\n<p>* $3,000 Regular Registry Show High Point Performance Gelding<br \/>\ndetermined by highest point total in the following Regular Registry<br \/>\nDivisions: Open, Amateur, Youth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Two Divisions<\/strong><br \/>\n$2,500 Regular Registry and $500 Solid Paint Bred Show High Point<br \/>\nPerformance Gelding Plus Awards<\/p>\n<p>* $2,500 Regular Registry Show High Point Performance Gelding<br \/>\ndetermined by highest point total in the following Regular Registry<br \/>\nDivisions: Open, Amateur, Youth.<br \/>\n* $500 Solid Paint Bred Show High Point Performance Gelding<br \/>\ndetermined by highest point total in the following Solid Paint Bred<br \/>\nDivisions: Open, Amateur, Youth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Three Divisions<\/strong><br \/>\n$1,000 Open, $1,000 Amateur, $1,000 Youth Regular Registry Show High<br \/>\nPoint Performance Gelding Plus Awards<\/p>\n<p>* $1,000 Open Division Regular Registry Show High Point<br \/>\nPerformance Gelding determined by highest point total.<br \/>\n* $1,000 Amateur Division Regular Registry Show High Point<br \/>\nPerformance Gelding determined by highest point total.<br \/>\n* $1,000 Youth Division Regular Registry Show High Point<br \/>\nPerformance Gelding determined by highest point total.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153APHA is allowing each zone committee to tailor the incentive payouts this year to one of the three formats that best fits their individual event,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said APHA Paint Programs Coordinator Jessica McDaniel. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Geldings are an important part of responsible breeding practices, and we are excited to offer this special incentive program to promote outstanding aged Paint performance athletes.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>The first event to implement the new Gelding Plus format was the recent National Western Stock Show, which held Paint classes Jan. 8\u00e2\u20ac\u201c 11 in Denver, Colo.
