FORT WORTH, TEXAS<\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u201dDo you want to be an American Paint Horse\u00c2\u00a0Association (APHA) judge in Europe? Your next opportunity is the 2007 APHA European Judges Seminar, to be held jointly with the National Cutting Horse Association\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s (NCHA) Germany affiliate, May 2-6, 2007, at the Waldhotel Eskeshof in Wuppertal, Germany. The five-day event will include an APHA clinic, cutting theory presentation, video and live judging, individual interviews and a written test, and allows applicants the chance to earn their official APHA and\/ or NCHA European judges card.<\/p>\n

The APHA seminar will consist of three days of classroom instruction on May 2\u00e2\u20ac\u201c4 and two days of testing for judge applicants on May 5\u00e2\u20ac\u201c6. A variety of material will be covered, including the current rulebook, and classes that include halter, Western pleasure, hunter under saddle, Western riding, trail, showmanship, horsemanship, longe line, reining, working cow horse and cutting.<\/p>\n

Registration Fees:
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 The seminar fee is 150 \u00e2\u201a\u00ac payable upon arrival.
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 The application fee for those interested in testing for the
\nAPHA European Judges card is an additional 50 \u00e2\u201a\u00ac to be included with
\nthe Judges\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Application form found on the APHA Web site at apha.com\/
\njudges, along with a current photo. The form and 50 \u00e2\u201a\u00ac may be
\nsubmitted upon arrival at the seminar.
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Those interested in testing for the NCHA European Judges card
\nwill need to contact www.ncha.de Sportwart directly.
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 APHA European Judges are requested to attend the seminar,
\nhowever are not required to stay for the testing days. The seminar
\nfee for approved APHA European Judges is 100 \u00e2\u201a\u00ac.<\/p>\n

Each judge applicant is required to successfully complete video and live judging, a closed rulebook test and an interview. The APHA live judging portion will be held on May 5 at Pegasus Horses in W\u00c3\u00bclfrath near Wuppertal, Germany. For details about the location visit www.pegasus-horses.de.<\/p>\n

The live judging will be followed by the APHA video and rulebook testing and interviews on May 6. The video and live judging portions of the seminar may include, but are not limited to: halter, showmanship, horsemanship, hunt seat equitation, hunter under saddle, Western pleasure, Western riding, trail, reining and cutting.<\/p>\n

Applicants who receive a passing score on their tests, with the approval of the APHA Judges\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Committee, will earn their APHA European Judges card.<\/p>\n

In conjunction with the judges seminar, a one-day APHA Show Management Seminar led by Butch Carse, Trigg Rentfro and Holly Nelson will be held on May 1, from 10:00 a.m.\u00e2\u20ac\u201d4:00 p.m. The cost, which includes, a lunch buffet and a coffee break, is 36 \u00e2\u201a\u00ac.<\/p>\n
