This is going to be an amazing barrel race in honor of a man that truly loved the sport of rodeo and the agricultural way of life. Rush passed away January 7, 2019. He was a founding member of the Anderson County Youth Livestock Association and served as President for 40+ years. He was a gold member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and a National Finals Rodeo qualifier in 1974 in steer wrestling. Rush served on the Brushy Creek Water Board and the Federal Department of Agriculture Board. He was a reserve deputy for Anderson County and served in the National Guard Reserve. The money made off this barrel race will go to the Rush Herrington Memorial Scholarship Fund so that every year we can award a scholarships to the youth that has the same respect for rodeo and agriculture that Pawpaw did.
