Haven't been to this pen before.  Would it be comparable to the arena's at magnolia and the church arena in montogmery?  ie,, size of patttern?, deep, heavy ground when wet?  Are we looking at long 17's and 18's in the 1D?  Parking on grass or dirt?  Warm-up area?  I know I read where someone said it can take rain, but is it going to be boggy as well. Just wanting to get mentally prepared for the evening.  Thank you...

Yes, big and deep outdoor pen.  I do believe it is mid to high 17's that win, but also will depnd on how they stake it.  Pretty much anywhere you find on the grass you can warm up in, no specific pen to warm up in though.  Parking is not fun when it rains, all grass parking and it was not stabalized the last time I was there, lots of mud.  Could very possibly be a mess with parking, but again, I have not been there in a few months, maybe they have changed it, but from what I have heard, it is still the same.

We went by there yesterday at 2:30 and they were pumping water out of the parking lot.  There was still water standing.  The tractor will definitely be doing double duty pulling people out and dragging.

Mike left at 7am to get the arena and what ever he can ready for the day.
The arena will be right the rain only helped.  The parking lot I do not know but he will do anything he can to help barrel racers.....

I didn't know Mike was going to do the ground, that's super nice.  Good Ol'e Berby.  I do feel better about that.  Thanks Sharon and Jaci and Mike and Baby Berby.  Susan

When we left at number 63 I think they had about 150 entered.  My compliments to the staff of this show- a very well run show.  I appreciate the staff to help direct the parking (which was not an issue at all).  When we left Shannon Peavy and Dinero were leading with a 18.9 - a big pattern and they seemed to be running about 40 an hour, which I thought was good for the size of the pattern.  Announcing was good too!

It is a big pen.  Texans do not run in many pens that big.  I think most of our pens are for other areas of rodeo and barrel racers just have to fit in..

Good to run into you here...Mruphy6  HOpe to see you in Bryan Jan 2
You will love the facility and all the conviences.....

I am glad the parking was not a problem but Mike was ready to pull anyone out that needed it...

OMG huuuge pen! But it was refreshing, it was nice to be able to get a change and open the horses up.  I have never ran a pattern that big.  I was 50/50 on clean runs.. rats. It was deep but the ground wasnt bad. and i think as the night went on the ground got faster.  But then again Shannon held onto the race for a looong time.  It was so cool, lots of vendors, the bar and grill was awesome! I agree it was well run...

WOW.....that pattern was HUGE....lol.  The race was REALLY well run, I thought it ran fairly quick for the pattern being so enormous.  The ground was awesome of course, thanks to Mike and I have to eat my words because the parking was NOT an issue at all, it was perfectly fine, I don't think one person got stuck.  The buckle is GORGEOUS, I really love it!  Ashley, you did a GREAT job!!!!
