Yes TX 17 WILL have a website. I ask that everyone please be patient with us, we are having to rebuild EVERYTHING from the ground up and it just takes time.

i would like to thank everyone for thier calls and emails ,michelle and i will do our very best to make 17 a district to say you are proud to belong to. we are working on our schedule and will keep everyone posted to dates .we are glad we could get our 1st one in the new pen at sulpher springs tex. wish we could say for sure more will be there but we will just have to see how our funds go :yes:

It's a new arena behind the civic center and it has stalls all around the backside and the east side of it I believe - I have warmed up in it during the upra membership . Lots of room to park .

well guys laura was partly right ,gotta play it low ,maybe job on the line and they can't give specific details to me .supposedly teachers don't think I'm cordial enough,so I'll just have to wait and see what happens.sure don't need to lose my job .now all thiswith 17 is transpiring and i have a nice horse I'm getting comfortable on.

we will try our best, the area we are looking at is pickton tex(in between s,springs and winnsboro) mt. vernon,h.c burns(in between cumby ands.springs) bogota .paris and if someone can get a pen in our distert and have it set up we will try to schedule there. these pens will have arena ready to go so it won't be so hard on michelle and i to have things ready.
what district are you running? we are gonna do our best to get things scheduled,i have to send to state directer. would love to have you

Cordial, and your a teacher, is that a requirement? I always thought helping the student learn the ciriculum was the requirement. Hmmm must have missed that in the prerequisit doc. :blah:

i am going to talk to them too,like i said we are having to go where they will have it ready,we have no timers,no pa system and thier has to be tractor and pen watered. i heard mt pleasant (the church arena) you have to water and i'm not for sure about tractor,i think marlyins pen would be ready ,but i'll just have to check.
we have NO PROBLEM going where we will draw a crowd.

B/O 9:30 am, barrel exh 10-12:30, pole exh 12:30-1:00, Seniors starts at 1:15, youth to follow seniors and open to follow youth. 4D jackpot poles will follow open barrels. Open will not start before 2:00 pm.
Yall come out and help kick TX 17 off to a successful year!!!!

Just wanted to bump this up and remind everyone. We went to the arena on Sat and it is so nice. I wanted to thank everyone involved with the arena for all of their hard work to get it ready for us. YALL ARE AWESOME!!!!! Hope to see everyone there!!!

that could very well be true. i asked dwayne was he gonna come that day he said yes ,i told him we have to have someone drag and he saysssss----no no no no .i might see if ray will come drag for us .we will need someone familiar with doing it .guess that is why i wanted hubby to do it . we shall see. is michael gonna cook some chiie ? so dwayne will kinda know how much to fix. if not you might bring some sandwiches. i have the list of what everyone is bringing.i will probanly fix some cookies also .tying to think of things that we can sell for not change so i won't have to bring any .a couple of big cookies for

I really enjoyed getting my colt out and about and exercising my old man, tryin to get him back in shape before all of the rodeos start back up !! Mom enjoyed it as well ,even though she had to take care of my red headed monster !!! The ground looked great -wish I had something to run -but will just have to suck it up and this crazy colt goin !! Lookin forward to it girls :)/\\-I am not sure I can talk hubby into being drag man ,but I will ask (he does a great job dragging arenas but I don't think he wants it to get out !!)

Oh yeah -this one time I am sitting in the house and all of the sudden I hear the tractor running and I look out and mom is brush hogging the front pasture (mind you this is in a big cab and air tractor ) she has this sucker opened up like she is in the indie 500 !!!!!!!!!!!! I go running out there and flag her down and she is like what,what is the problem and I was like ,mom are you kidding me what are you thinking going that fast ?????? She says well -----I can get it done faster ,I like to fell over ,I had to explain to her why you can't just open one up in 5th gear while you mow -lol !!!!!!!!!!!!!! then there is this one time where she nearly took out half the side of the barn with the front end loader -I don't even want to go there on that !!!! Yep ,no we won't let her know lol-my dad made me learn when I was thirteen to drive a stick sittin in the front yard at our house in sealy just practicing shifting over and over and also on the tractors and drivin the truck while picking up hay in the fields , I can remember throwin everyone off one time when they where up about 5 or 6 rows from messing up shifting , they were not to happy with me ,but deep down I thought it was funny ,you know how teens think -lol !! thats all we use to drive were sticks but we have not had one in several years since they have made the automatics so much better, I like 'em !!

Yes ,I worked my butt off today I went to a friends house and got to practice alittle -I roped on 2 horses and watched Maysun at the same time ,wheww !! We set her in her stroller on the left side of the chute out of harms way but still right next to us , gave her a biter biscuit and some juice and she loved it ,every time a calf came in the chute she would say bull,bull !! she was very good today !!

Yes I did go and it was ran very nicely. Got to see and visit with some old friends. My mare worked really good now I just need to send her and hustle and see what we can do. Mike told me that she is ready to go and I need to get over it and send her down the alley she is going to turn, sooooooooooo next week come hell or high water we are going to roll down the alley. :)/\\

This is going to give me more gray hair. If you had asked me two yrs ago to run one I would have jumped on it and let her rip, but since my accident I am not so inspired to do that, but I guess I need to get over it IT has been TWO YEARS. If it was only that easy to erase tramatic events from our brain. oh well, we will see if she takes care of me. She tried to go in an work i just got in her way because my brain starts having flash backs lol. I don't care if I have to take me a shot of parrot bay rum I am running that mare down the alley way next TUES nite!!!!

I think I need to incorporate more lunges and squats in my workouts because if I send this mare my buttocks will need some better reaction time and my legs will need to be strong enough to hold my big buttocks in the saddle. I thought that they had done away with it but when I saw that #26 was charging the $10 non member fee I said differently. Some districts do not charge the fee. I think it is up to the district director..........Maybe someone can tell us differently.......... ;)

Also please pass the word to everyone... I will be setting up some boxes for donations to be sent to my son and his fellow troops that are currently in IRAQ. There is a list already going around on my original post "My son called from Iraq", so if you need info on what you can drop in the box it is there and I can post it later on here. I will also have cards there for everyone to sign and even if you are not able to contribute you can still sign them. I mail them on Mondays so this will work perfectly. I really would like to extend a very big thank you from the bottom of my heart to each and everyone of you for your thoughts and support during this time for me and my son!!!

o deb i know about that blood pressure,was in intinsive care for 3 days with it last summer. i have finally gotten my meds straightened out and am felling good.i'v had it since i was 19 i developed toximia when i was pregnat with shawn my youngest son, taken meds sice then but last summer it just got out of control,it was like 276/ 18? and was at the heart dr. he just wheeled me up to the er,had tubes in me everywhere. then they were getting it to low and i couldn't raise my head off a pillow much less daily function. just do what dr. says and they will get you worked out.

We had a tornado come right behind my house last nite !! it went in between the barn/house and a line of trees !! it was soooooooo SCARY !!! me and Maysun went and got in the hall by the bath tub and almost crawled in it ,they are so right when they say it sounds like a train ,it sounded like it was comin in the house with us and then all of the sudden it was gone !!! we have stuff scattered every where ,we have a grain silo and it is moved and over on it's side -mom and dads hot tub cover is all the way over here up agianst the fence !! we also have one of those huge water troughs that takes all day to fill ,well its about 4 football fields away smashed in to a line of trees along with all of our cow feeders ,they are also wrapped around the trees !! and needless to say me and Maysun were home alone ,hubby was in vernon headed to elk city okl. to pick up cows !! I am tellin ya I was so scared !! Thank you Ma'm -Yep we are all very thankfull everyone is ok !! just down the road several old barns are completely demolished ,wiped out.You can kinda see the path the tornado took because the damage is not sparatic all over just in a sorta line from here to there . We also could not go down our road from several huge trees that were down .My parents came in from Arizona today and had to unhook their 5th wheel camper on the road for awhile while dad took the tractor down to move the trees ,but there was just to many of them so we came back home and were able to get the camper around the other way ,our county was'nt even out tryin to help at all !!! but we are all fine.Snazzy is doin great,she just wishes she could go out with the boys but she is in her stall with her blanket on all tucked in !! I tryed to explain to her that it is just to slick and wet but that she could go out 2morrow -lol !!

I am going to ride 2morrow ,if things are not dry enough to ride here ,which my arena is better the more water it has on it ,I will try and go over to klondike and ride !! I want to thank everyone that attended and everyone that worked. We had a wonderful turnout (more than we expected) and the show ran very smooth!!!! Yes the dirt was a little on the deep side but it really held great through the entire show and no slips that I was aware of. I will have the results up soon, I forgot to write it all down when I left so it will take a couple of days, Vicki has her hands full trying to sort things out. All in all I would call it a success!!!!!
DON'T FORGET NEXT WEEK WE WILL BE AT THE KLONDIKE ARENA, SEE YALL THERE!!!!

I think everything went very smooth for the first one and I think with a good number of entries !!! except for my poor mom who instead of getting to help and do her job was busy baby sitting my crazy red headed child (sorry mom) -so from now on hubby gets to watch miss into everything on sundays -lol- !! Here are directions to the Klondike arena- East of Commerce tx. and just west of Cooper Tx. on hwy 24 and County Road 2135 -Arena will be on the north side of the road ,it is white with red trim . You can kinda see the arena from Hwy 24 but there is some obstruction in front that blocks the view of the whole arena -and we will put signs out pointing to the arena !!

No ma'm ,you would take 154/224 (which might be the same road your talkin about) to Cooper off of 19 -go thru Cooper to 24/224 and take a left goin south west and the arena will be about 5 miles on your right .

I went to the arena yesturday ,and the ground looks great (knock on wood) he has hauled out alot of dirt and hauled in alot of new dirt ,so it won't be like it was 10 yrs. ago at all !! he also said if we are'nt happy with it he will work it and change it to our needs as best as possible ,so I thought that was very nice !! We had some upra rodeos there a couple of years ago ,now granted all I did was rope ,but I do not remember any of the barrel racer complaining about the ground ,and he said nobody did as well !! Everybody come give it a try !! I always say you never know until you try !!

Miss Snazzy is doin fine,she has been havin a good time out turned out in the sun !! We are thinkin on goin to Terrell ,but it is suppose to be really cold so we may not bring horses and just go to support Tony ,I am not sure though ,still up in the air !! I am with Miss Vic I don't want to get home late and I have to get up early ,all though it is fairly close to the house so it's not that bad ,but who knows !!

Girl I have the worst saddle rash on the inside of my calves and knees ,I guess from being out in that wind all day at terrell and then riding at Klondike too (which I think went very well !! ) But 2morrow it is on !!!!!!!!!!! Especially since I got that new saddle ,I can't wait !! We have been so busy today dealin with cattle and havin to go pick up a broodmare and take her away from her big grey man -lol !!!!

snazzy doesn't need alot of practice ,just you riding her toget her winded and legged up. you just getting the feel of her is what y'all need.you make your runs at the shows. i did lots of exercise with her and not alot of working the barrels,she knows the pattern,just sit up and ride 2handed.

Try making that second run. It will help build that confindence. The more you run the better.

i think it was 31 in the open and 7 in the poles,people missed a good show because of the rep,that arena had.i saw 1 horse slip and it was in exib.so we have had 2 shows and i've not seen a horse slip at all. i really love s.s. new pen i am talking with the lady about some practice nights and help with some jackpots.i think that would be a good way to make xtra money for the club if some want to help.

We came last weekend I am new to the area and appreciated Vicki calling me back when I called her. Great race wish they'de have the membership rodeo in that new pavillion!

We'll be back I haven't won a 1D check on that horse in a couple years he had surgery last year so I was beyond excited. I was about to cry when we ran out the gate. LOL We went home last weekend so we missed Klondike looks like it got great reviews.

Dang Vicki, that's neat we are both talking to her about the same thing it looks like.. :ROFL2: I just got a confirmation from our Association and a confirmation from the arena as well. We will be doing some Tuesday night practices over there with a jackpot to follow starting this summer. When are ya'll going to do some? I'd like to go as long as it isn't a school night. <(::)> Gotta get those kids in bed. Also have an added money fundraiser going on there this October for TCBRA. However Cary will be doing the ground for us, so if it isn't quite right it will be after these practice nights this summer. :)/\\ I am so glad he is on board this year and willing to help out with the association. He is my ace in the hole.
Have you gotten my emails about ;)? We are looking at the Hopkins County Civic Center for the finals show for that. We have looked at several arenas and they aren't any of them much better than the place where they hold the UPRA finals and membership drives, so that will be awesome! snazzy doesn't need alot of practice ,just you riding her toget her winded and legged up. you just getting the feel of her is what y'all need.you make your runs at the shows. i did lots of exercise with her and not alot of working the barrels,she knows the pattern,just sit up and ride 2handed.
Yes Ma'm you know since thats what we have been recently talkin about,thats what we have on the agenda ,lots of pasture time !! the first time I rode her out there thru the trees and little dry water dips she thought everything was a booger monster comin to get her ,you would think she had rollers in her nose snort,snort -lol- it was so funny !!! I think we will get ,all we have to do is keep tryin right !!!! yep you and rowdy looooked good !! The ground was very good and I heard several people commenting on how good they thought it was and glad that they came instead of going on assumption of ten years ago !!

i would love to run inthe upra pen to but im telling you the pen thir using is awesome i wnt to the first show and it was all good, gound everyone dont a great job, ran really smooth great pen...i have to leave th 7th going to dayton to get grandaughter for spring break seems these always get sced over something i have to do that will be a mojor rush trip if i make tcbra on friday night get in late go to dayton and back for the tx 17 i dont know if i feel up to that much will see though guys..

my run was so so.he didn't act like he knew for sure what we weredoing ,weaving to the first probably would have had a decent run if we'd gone strait to the first.yes they were thier carol didn't run,curly won money,so i guess he was happy this time.

about 17 sec pattern maybe a little faster, good ground esp after all this rain, the wetter the faster. lots of parking and shade trees, consessions. no bleachers so bring your lawn chair

But instead I went and braved the cold wind at snows arena in garvin ,I was first out and got out good and roped my calf in the 2 hole and pulled my slack to fast and pulled it off his head ,but other than that it was good ,finally won some money fri. nite ,it's not much because I split last hole ,but it's a start though !! But instead I went and braved the cold wind at snows arena in garvin ,I was first out and got out good and roped my calf in the 2 hole and pulled my slack to fast and pulled it off his head ,but other than that it was good ,finally won some money fri. nite ,it's not much because I split last hole ,but it's a start though !! Hope everything went welll ,it was kinda wierd not being there !!

it was the sorrel horses first trip to town he handled it like a pro, I'm glad you didn't see the other one she is evedently hurting she's usually chargy but she always works never blows the 2nd and 3rd barrels like that. When I got her back from California she was doing the exact same thing on the first and we injected her stifle and fixed it. We have an appt tomaro to see about the other one. She's was a match racing horse when her owner got her so she isn't exactly sound. It was nice to finally meet you too!

well just a small update on the garage sale fundraiser I did this last couple of days!!
I'm sad to say we had a small response from the members to donate things, but happy to report that I raised 220.00 in a two day garage sale!!
instead of added money since it was a small amount it is going into the year end awards fund!
I have the next fundraiser bouncing around my feeble brain as I report!!! lol
Thank you NBHA Tx 17 members that did donate to this great cause!

Ok I'm going to reveal my next fundraising idea!
I had 10 beautiful Pembroke Corgie pups born on May1.
I'm donating one to NBHA 17 one to raffel off @ 5.00 a ticket!
These dogs sell between 300-500.00
I will keep it till it is 8 weeks old. It will have all it"s shots started and be ready to be regestered!
It will be a female either a Red Sable or a black and white tri color!
I will post some pictures of it soon!
My corgies are not real big! My little male Texas Twister weighs in around 18 and my female Southern Breeze weighs about 16 pounds.
I hope this will be a great fund raiser to raise year end award monies!!

Website is updated with next show info. Points are up through May 24th show and are unofficial at this time. Hopefully Vicki and I can get together and square them away. I do not have the results for May 31st because I was not present for this show but should have them by the beginning of next week. We had a great turnout for the Silent Auction and raised almost $600 for awards!!!! I want to thank everyone who participated!!!!!! See ya down the road!

Oh My...........I love when associations go to the night schedules during the summer. Especially with this heat wave we have right now. This is horrible. One good thing is I have NO grass to mow..........

they all seem to have other plans,don't think they really thought about if no entries no prize fund.we barely made enough to cover our arena fee.but i wanted to put it to a vote and let them decide and they wanted to stay on sun.afternoon.i did ok till i started packing up and the heat got to me. thank goodness michelle and ray were there to help me.
i guess with my meds it just wears me down.
we still have a little grass but it is dieing off,it has been raining here most of the morning not hard ,if the sun comes out it will burn everthing up.

Vicki Dont get down. You run because you love it. This heat has everyone wondering why they do what they do and there is just a lot of work during the summers too. I have tried to do some riding at home but Patches hates it here at home. Soooo I guess I will take her back to the barn. Maybe she will feel better there and I will just have to drive to Point to ride her. This black land here she hates. I guess it hurts her feet.
Keep riding Rowdy. It will be fine and then when Spanky is ready he will be there. I have a thing for Spanky's. We have a very nice looking stud. His name is Just Spanky. And his name fits him. He throws some very nice babies. He is fun. He has a lot of personality.
Chin up. It will be cool sooner than you think.

he hasn't been coughing alot just thick snotty nose and heavy breathing,like he is having trouble breathing,flared nostrills just walking in pasture. hopefully these meds will get him cleared up soon.they cost enough,about as much as human meds/

ya should be great weekend.rowdy seems to be his old self again.=,maybe snazzy not being around, he was pretty sick the last couple weeks with a respitory inf. so i have been taking him kinda slow(slower) ha ha but he still acts like he is having a little trouble breathing ,so i'm looking forward to a couple of runs on him
