Title: Who's Expecting???

If you are:
When are you do?
Is this your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, ?
Are you going to find out what you are having?
If so, is it a girl or boy?

I want to find out, but my husband does not. (guess we just won't be telling him...lol)
I have to wait another 4 weeks in order to find out if it will be another girl or a boy. :)/\\

not expecting but i have two year old twins (boy/girl) and they are all i can handle so i decided 6 weeks after they were born i had my tubes tied. they are good kids but man at times it can be difficult.

I ran at Cleburne last Sunday, I had a hunch I was going to be instructed not to ride at my appt Monday. I was right. I'm compromising >angel< I'm not competing but I am going to continue to ride as a leisure activity and get a little exercise.

I agree Rebecca -- scares the bejeezies out of me but ready or not....here we go :)/\\ We're both very excited and ready....but its still a big adjustment. Cant wait!!

Since my friend "murphy" likes to follow me around everywhere I go, just can't take the chance. I would never be able to forgive myself if something happened because of my selfishness. That's what I use the horse walker and lounge line for - to keep my horse in shape while I'm off.

I ran barrels with Jaycee up until I was 20 weeks pregnant, then just rode around the house til about 28 weeks. I haven't rode much at all with this on. No time to ride when you are chasing after a 12 month old. LOL I wouldn't trade it for anything! I have to rest of my life to run barrel and ride. I figure there will be a barrel race somewhere for the rest of my life. I can honestly say after having a child the things that seem so important to you before kinda go away. I wouldn't have it any other way!! ;)

It was our first, and last I might add, had my tubes tied..lol I am one that never, ever wanted any kids, but I guess it was just meant to happen. I had a scheduled c section, which was great since I wanted one anyways, because he was breech. I rode up until I was dang near 8 months, which I know most people frown upon, but I did take it easy.

All 3 of mine are mares and all of them are born in March!!! (all pisces) Easy to remember birthdays that way.

Post by: stdtra14 on January 21, 2009, 07:29:12 AM: I started out the "natural way", but after 28 hours of labor and still not dilating past a 6, a C-section was ordered. Now, since I had one, my doctor will do the next one the same to prevent me from having any other complications. They usually say that the next child is usually bigger than the first, and I can't see myself going through another 20+ hours of labor only not to dilate again, and causing the extra stress to the baby.

I was terrified at first to have one, but afterwards it was a great experience. I was up walking around within the hour, didn't have to worry about tearing, having an episiotomy, stitches down there, going to the bathroom or healing down there. It was awesome. The only draw back was that I had to give myself an extra 2-3 weeks before I felt comfortable enough to ride. Since I'm out for the majority of this year anyways, 2-3 weeks is nothing!

God Bless all you women that went the natural way! Now, thanks to modern medicine and my former experience, I'm taking drugs ALL THE WAY!

Post by: CodyH on January 21, 2009, 09:21:12 AM: My doctors gave me the choice to be induce or have a c-section. He told me he thought I would labor for about 20 hours at least. And he gave a 50-50 chance at having her. So we opted for the c-section the next morning. We got there at 5:30 am and it was all over by 8. I was so thankful. Also having having the c-section, they realized the cord was around her neck TWICE and my pelvic bones are inverted. Therefore, they would have never expanded for me to have her natural. So another c-section here at the end of May! :)/\\

My due date is Feb. 23rd but as we sit today, my little girl is heads up.....So we are looking at a possible C-section on Feb. 16th. Unless she turns but I dont see that happening. Her name is going to be Raelee Ann. I just turned 32. I am very excited! I have missed getting to ride though. But the wait has been well worth it. The last time I was in a saddle was mid August. So I have really missed my therapy. ;)

You seem to be the next one that is due. I also think that we are all scheduled (or will be) for a C-section. How odd is that?!

I have a couple of questions since a couple of ya'll are on #2. Was the chinese birth chart right on yours? What about the string test, hold it over your wrist, if it goes in a circle its a boy and if it swings back & forth its a girl? What other fun/silly wives tale type 'tests' did you do? All indications, including a friend that I feel has a sense about these things, are all leaning towards a boy for us.

Whit I can't remember doing any test with Jaycee?! We just all KNEW she was a boy. Plus I was sooo far along when I found out, it was only like one or two appts and they told us she was a girl!! Maybe I should do the test on this one and see what they say.

Of course we never truly know till the birth day. My nephew, they said every time she went in that he was a girl. Needless to say, he came home in a pink outfit!

I happened to pick up one of the flyers for the upcoming barrel race (April I think) while at NBHA 30 this past weekend. Do you have a physical address to the arena? I don't believe I have ever been to that pen, and we are considering coming.

Click on one of the tickers and it should take you to the page where you can make one. Or google Baby Gaga or Lillypie I think is the other one I've seen. Put in her info, copy the code and paste it into your signature. I've got one on myspace. Some are humorous, some give neat details about the baby's development.

This is to determine if my tests were a true or false positive. If it is a true positive, I will have an amniocentesis done to determine if the baby is at risk for Down Syndrome.

I really nervous about having an amnio done. Has anyone else had to have one of these before? I've been reading about them about the risks and all. Just haven't actually heard from anyone who has had it actually performed yet.

Many Prayers to you and baby!! I know my mom had to have one done with me. This was back in 1981, when having children over 35 was NOT a good idea. She was 35 at the time. They told her twice that I had DS. I have asked her about the test before and she acted like it wasn't a big deal at all. Hopefully you will not have to have one though. A good friend of mine went through the exact samething you are. They went to Dallas for a level 2 Ultrasound and everything checked out to be fine. They have a healthy happy boy and are expecting #2 in April!!

Thanks for the advice. I hear that they get false negatives and false positives all the time. Since I've had one of both, I'm just anxious to see which is the true test. I know they've come a long way in testing and procedures, etc. but there is still always the low risk for miscarriage and/or infection. It's just going to be a long week till I can find out one way or the other. On a positive note, hoping to be able to find out the sex 3 weeks earlier than expected now that I have to have an extra ultrasound. :)/\\

I could tell with mine because it's such a tight fit, you tend to feel more elbows and MUCH HARDER movement...

I can feel a little bit more movement......She keeps pushing her little butt up.....then this morning she kept kicking me in the ribs it seemed like. But at last weeks appt she was still head up and i noticed the difference on Friday morning. So we were all a little shocked that she had her head down yesterday when they did the ultrasound.......

I have had to have several female surgeries so i was thinking that there was going to be too much scar tissue for the baby to even think about turning but i guess that i was wrong. So we will just have to see what happens......I guess that my mom is right i guess that i need to pack a bag.....

I had an appt on Monday and she checked to see if i was dialated and of course I wasnt and she made the comment that the baby was no where near my pelvis. So she is actually still looking at the 16th by c-section. But I am kind of up in the air on this. I cant wait till she gets here. So the question is do I go for the 16th or do I talk to her to try to get her to let me go to my due date and then if nothing has happened take her? What do yall think?

I was in labor about 32 hrs start to finish and only dialated to a 3 or 4....and had Csection because Emily was HUGE...she was 8lbs 2oz.... they asked with Levi if I wanted VBAC or Csection and I asked how big they thought he would be and the Doc said "8.5lbs if we take it early" and I said HECK TO THE NO...I couldn't have her at 8, I aint trying for 8.5!!!

I would wait until you know for sure how the baby is turned and labor on your own until it is determined that it is too risky to continue then have the CS. As much as I wanted to know the day Kendall would be born, our bodies were made for child birth. I wouldn't voluntarily have surgery unless there were risks involved in natural childbirth. BTW, I had a dr appt on Tuesday, was dialated to a 1, went into labor Wednesday night and had her Thursday afternoon. So when the doctor tells you that you don't have to be dialated to have her soon, she/he is right! LOL Who knew that doctors knew what they were talking about?!

Honestly - I've been thinking about not finding out. At first I was all about it, wanted to know as soon as we could find out. Now I'm sort of torn. These friends of our went in for their ultrasound and told the tech that they wanted her to check the sex of the baby but not to tell them. They had her write in on a car and put it in a envelope. They went to Dillards shopping and picked out a newborn girl outfit and newboy boy outfit. They took both to the clerk along with the envelope, told her to open it after they left and wrap the right outfit in neutral paper. Then went back and got the package and opened with both of their Family at Christmas. So they ALLL found out together!! :)/\\ I thought that was just too cool! It was a boy of course!!

He did choose to find out on this one - and I think that was only because we had to go into the specialist due to the bloodwork that came back. Though the picture was really grainy and hard to see, the doctor says it's a girl. But I still think there is room for error on the picture. ??? I have a follow up ultrasound next Wednesday, so I will be 2 weeks further along and we will confirm. Of course, my nephew was a girl each time they checked and SURPRISE....a boy on delivery day. :ROFL2:

Wow - for one to know and not let it slip! That took some effort! I like his thought process on there being few real surprises, very true. I bet that was a shock on your nephew's bday! Did they have a boy name in mind just in case? That would be my luck, be all set for one and it end up being the other :ROFL2: ACK -- decisions decisions!!

Ohhh....don't say that! I'm finally set on having another girl! I'll be having another ultrasound on the 16th at a specialist in Ft Worth since they can't see the cord clearly in the other ones. I'll be about 28 weeks by then so I hope they confirm that it's a girl. I'll have to change a lot of things if we are having a boy. =0)

yes she was and still is !! we tried to do the whole keep it a surprise ,huh yeah right my mouth sliped the first time I went back for a checkup and hubby called on the way home and said how did it go ,I said oh she is fine -lol he said SHE !! opps !!

Here is a gender predictor chart, I found it using yahoo. Not sure how accurate it is. But thought it was neat. They had a bunch of other gender predictor charts as well, just yahoo them and you'll get a bunch. Some use the age of the momma to be and the month you conceived. And others use more detail questions.

Our appt today was very exciting -- got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. Wow -- talk about time standing still, I could listen to that all day. Heartrate was right at 160 (anything between 140-180 is normal) and all my stuff was right on target.

Her inlaws are coming for the month of March to build an addition to their house for the baby so soon we can fix up the baby room. Wish I could find cowgirls bed bumpers etc. So far I can't find horses except for boys
Her theme is jungle luv and the giraffe looks like a horse hahaha

I'm pretty sure that I will have that test done on my "next" appointment. I have an appointment on Tuesday (regular visit) and then another follow up ultrasound on Wednesday with the specialist.

I'm just wondering if they have improved it or changed the flavors since 6 years ago when I had to take it for the first time? Mine was about 8-12 oz of this luke warm Orange Crush tasting liquid with what seemed to have about 2+ cups of sugar in it. bleeegh! Nasty!

Did anyone get diagnosed with gestational diabetes? I was fortunate not to have it with my first, but every pregnancy is different so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

My doctors do the test at 26 weeks. So we go for our 24 week check-up Monday and they will send the drink home with us. Then we will go back in two weeks, when I am 26 weeks. They tell you to drink it an hour before your appt and they do the test as soon as we arrive. I kept it in the frige last time and it wasn't TOO bad. I think it was something like 6 oz. So after our appt Monday, we start going every two weeks, Fun Fun!!

She failed the first one cause they told her to fast after midnight but she thought a swallow of Dr Pepper would not hurt......WRONG!!!!!

I was bound and determined to control it by diet because I did not want to be put on insulin. I have to check my blood 4 times a day and I have to say that I have done great!!!!

Monday is getting closer by the minute....I sure hope that I still have some of these finger nails by then!!!!! Today was my last day of work. I took off tomorrow and Friday to get things done around the house and have enough our last few free days.........and try to get as much sleep as we can for now.

We went once with Jaycee at 28 weeks. They couldn't really get any good pics, so we were suppose to go back. and never did. I didn't really like it. JMO. And there was no way I was draggin Jason back in there. He said he didn't like the idea of his unborn child looking somewhat like an alien?! LOL Go figure!! We went to the Open Imaging Place in MP. Not sure where you are located, but I would think your doctor could tell you the closest one. It just wasn't for us!!

So I have to the hospital on Sunday at 3pm and they are going to start some of the process. Then they will start to induce on Monday morning at about 530am. We agreed that if we werent at a certain point by a certain time, if i wasnt progressing like i should then we would go ahead and do a c-section. So either way we will have a baby on Monday!!!!!

They did an hour long sono and said that everything looks great though. It's a bit scary but the dr isn't too worried. I just have to have a sono every month to make sure she's gaining the correct weight. This apparantly happens in every 300 - 500 births. Anyway, we definately confirmed that she's a girl too.

They did a c-section and Raelee came into this world at 6:34. She looks just like her daddy. She has my nose and eyebrows but that is about it. After 51 pics and the baby smiling, yawning and sticking out her tongue we were all in love. Once she put her hands over her nose and was peeking around her hands with her eyes open. She smiled, smirked and banged on Mommies stomach. Mike's family in Virginia was able to watch at the same time we did and they toasted with champagne and cigars as we are all so excited. The place we went to was awesome and set up beautiful. It was an expierence I would advise for anyone who is as excited as we are to see that beautiful baby.
I think Jaci is next on the delivery list.....8 1/2 weeks to go and counting!!!!!

I would've continued to ride but I have the RH Factor thing and my Doc informed me that I may under no circumstances perform any risky tasks. I tried to convince my hubby that running Nikki is not risky but he did not agree! Not at all! And the colts were certainly out of the question! So all of mine are in the pasture barefoot and fat!
I told someone the other day that I intended to be at the Mega and they laughed hysterically. I didn't think it was funny at all! I'll show them!
I have had a super easy pregnancy... Haven't been sick a day and can still wear my jeans (but why would I when I can wear elastic waistbands and everyone thinks its cute!!!)
I registered for a cage so I can put her in it in a safe place at the barn when I'm riding! Sounds bad but my sister did it and rode during nap times and she was back on in no time at all! My husband played golf (professionally for a while) and so my in-laws have never been near horses in their lives... They think I'm a little whacky! They would prefer I not even go to the barn! Cody... Apparently they can only give you the shot twice during pregnancy. If I were to have an accident I would have to have it immediately and they already intend to give it to me twice so that's were I can't take the extra risks. Anytime my Doc tells me I should be weary of something I listen because she has been very liberal about everything so far.

Thanks Brooke! I am going to read up on this, kinda has me wondering now. I got the Rhogam shot with Jaycee, I think at 28 weeks. From what I remember them telling me it something about me being Neg and Jason being Pos. Something about my body could see the baby as forgien, but it more of a risk with the second Pregnacy?! I guess I just trust the doctors too much and should research it myself. :)/\\ I was just never aware of it being a risk and never heard of having to have two shots?! Shows how much I know and this is Go Around # 2 for me!! LOL

I saw them last weekend & she's barely got a tummy! My mouth dropped when she said she only has about 4-5weeks to go. She looks great, I need to borrow her meal plan for sure!!

Everything fits fine, I'm just cheating a little with the rubber band thru the buttonhole trick :)/\\ Its funny - Cody told me this in the beginning and now I see what she means. In the morning you dont really feel or feel like you look preg but boy by about 3 in the afternoon I feel like I'm 15lbs heavier.

I have test driven my maternity pants to work but they're still too big for now. My admin assistant said she's going to get me some suspenders for them. I love the tops I have, I think they're cute. I've got a luncheon on Tuesday, maybe I'll get some pics then.

We went for the Glucose Test this morning. The results will be back later this week, they said no news is good news! We have to go back next monday too. I am thinking its is for the Rhogam Shot, but I could be wrong. Either way the appointments will be every two weeks from now until the first part of May!! It's getting closer for sure!!

It's only a few years old. The dr talked to my husband about the 2 cord deal with the baby and assured him that everything looks great so far. I only have to get a sono once a month to track her growth. Also, the dr said that i'm carrying her close in which is why I'm still not showing that much, considering how far along I am. You can feel her feet all the way around my right side, almost in my back. Weird!
How is everyone else doing?

And all without really dieting, or having morning sickness at all. My next appointment is on Tuesday the 17th. Just a regular visit and then the glucose test will be next. On that Thursday, we have to go down to Texas Children's hospital for a fetal echocardiogram. Just as a precautionary measure. My husband was born with aeortic stenosis, and it wasn't detected right away. So far, everything looks well, it's just to be able to check the heart more clearly.

Post by: shesalittletipsy on March 05, 2009, 11:52:27 AM: Ha! I gained 10 lbs between my previous 4 week appt and had gained an additional 8 lbs when I went back Tuesday! I had only gained 4 lbs all together prior to that so I did a real catch up the last 2 months! My mom says she gained every lb in the 5th and 6th months and never put on another lb after that so I'm hoping I got her genes! She also doesn't have a stretch mark on her body so really keeping my fingers crossed there! My problem is I've never been able to do the small meals throughout the day thing. I cook a huge meal every night so why would I want to spoil that with something petty?
I start going every 2 weeks now... 3rd trimester!

Just a side note: My Dr. recommended Expecta (DHA supplement) in addition to my prenatal. This visit she recommended I start taking Slofe for additional Iron intake. Both are available over the counter at any drugstore. Thought some of you might find this helpful if you have history with anemia but aren't to the 6th month yet for your big blood test.

I'm 7 months and just look like I've put on weight, not that I'm pregnant. I love running into people that I haven't seen in awhile and they say "hey, why are you working downtown?". I say "I'm pregnant so they put me down her for now". They look surprised. So, that must mean they were thinking 'Dang, she's put on some weight!'. lol Oh well, I was like this before...I just put on the weight at the end. Not much though. I've still only put on a little over 10 pounds so far. I hope it stays like this!

Dang -- where is the time going? I'd better get with the program...the only thing I've picked out so far is a crib. Brad & were just talking about baby furniture last night. We've been trying to decide between new carpet or hardwood floors.... even though hardwood is beautiful carpet is more economical. Plus we're thinking about selling within the next couple of years, never know what will be a dealbreaker for a potential buyer. A good time to do new flooring is in the process of old furniture out/new furniture in.

i have a hard time with the ''genetics'' answer. my mom and sister have stretch marks, but i DON'T!!! and i've had TWINS! i also used baby oil after every shower before drying off! (( hiint hint Whit!))

But I just look like I've got a HUGE basketball in my belly. And YES its true you do get BIGGER the last month or two. Next appt is next Thur then 2wks again then I go once a week.

And I got sick with prenatal vitamins so my Dr has me take in Flintstone Gummies 2 a day and been perfect ever since!

Now my countdown is on!!!!!

If I could ask this of ya'll - please say a prayer for a very good friend of mine. She's not a member of the board but she is a fellow barrel racer, she really really REALLY wants a baby. They have been trying for a while and she has has some difficulties. I just ask that the prayer warriors on here lift her up so that the efforts this week will be a success. Not to go into many personal details, but this week is very critical. She so supportive of me and is so happy for hubby & me, if there's anyone I know that deserves to be able to have a baby its her. My doctor was in emergency surgery so we didnt see her but really all they did was the regular stuff so no big deal. The nurse let us hear the hearbeat again today. I asked the nurse if she minded if we called our Moms so they could hear too, she thought that was really sweet. So I called Mom & Brad called his Mom and we held our cell phones up so they could listen too :* I didnt cry the first time we heard it (Feb appt) and I didnt cry this time until I heard our Moms tune up >CRYING EYES OUT< That was the first time they both had heard it so it was pretty emotional for them. No tears fell out -- so that wasnt really crying was it? ;)

Our next trip will be in 3 weeks for a sonogram, the plan is for both of them to come with us. I cant wait to have updated pics :)/\\

I have a Dr. appointment at 2:40 today to see where I am at as far as dilation. If Trevor doesn't arrive before April 1, then my Dr. is going to induce on the 1st. Last week I was 50% effaced but only dilated to a 2. Hopefully todays appointment will get something jump started. Poor Mark, he is so nervous!!!

Rodeo Mom - I agree, this is one of my all time favorite threads. Its so fun to share this ya'll ;)

Our update - I havent been able to be online much lately. We had a sonogram appt Monday morning and everything is right on track. Who knew hearing the words "Your baby has a perfect aorta" could make me so happy!! ;) We got to see all 4 chambers of his heart, all measurements are right where they need to be. The tech was able to get a peek. CodyH gave me a GREAT idea - we had the tech check, but not tell us. She wrote it on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope. We went to a department store, picked out two outfits (1 boy, 1 girl) that were the same price, paid for one of them. Told the cashier to look at the note from the tech after we left & wrap the appropriate color gift. We went back and picked up the wrapped gift. Met the family (ended up being about 30 of us) at H3 in the Stockyards (my FAV restaurant!!) for birthday/find out what we're having party at 6:30. We opened the gift & we all found out at the same time. Sonogram was at 8:30 that morning and we ended up opening the gift a little after 7....it was so exciting!

My favorite hauling buddy of all time was there to hug me and be silly -- Lisa (ITDASH) thank you so much for being there!! :-* If it weren't for LaceeB/DTA and you I wouldn't be where I am today.....living my fairy tale.

I still havent felt the baby kick but the tech said not to worry, he's breech for now and he's just standing on my bladder. I wont feel the fluttery kicks until he flips around. Either way -- I was so happy to see his heart beating Monday morning. Now we gotta get busy and get some names picked out.

I was disappointed but not enough to ride them by myself. Not scared to, just boring standing in line without people I know.

Have two doctor appointments on Monday. A follow up ultrasound with the Perinatal group, and then I have to take my glucose test at my regular doctor.

I will be out of touch for the weekend, (no computer at home) so I will check back with everyone on Tuesday to see how everyone is.

That's actually what happened with us! Went to Vegas for R&R the first weekend of September, came home with a baby in my belly! Ha! My Aunt who lives in Vegas had a t-shirt made for me that says "What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas" with an arrow pointing at my belly! It's pretty funny!

I miss being around her all day. She goes in Thursday for her 2 month checkup. I cant believe that she is already that old. It doesnt seem like it has been that long. She is changing everyday it seems. Now I am trying to get her into a schedule. She is sleeping pretty good during the night. Wish that she would sleep a little bit longer. She will get there. I was thinking of putting a little bit of cereal in her milk at night and see if that helps.

Post by: stdtra14 on April 14, 2009, 11:02:36 AM: Hello everyone. Just wanted to update the chart a little. I went to the doctor appointments yesterday and we now have a set date for the C-section. Can you believe my doctor was actually going to be on vacation for the 10-day window that she gave me to pick a date for?!!? So, I convinced her to let me go a day earlier - and now we will be welcoming little Sydney on June 22nd!! I just jumped up 2 weeks!!!

Had a follow up u/s at the specialist and from the measurements, they say she is approx. 2 lbs. 12 oz right now. My fluid levels are back to where they need to be (it was low the last time). Thank goodness, all this water I am drinking is doing something besides just making me visit the bathroom every 30 minutes. Also had my glucose test yesterday. I was greatly pleased when she brought me a red (cherry) drink instead of the former nasty orange one. Had to chug it within 5 minutes! should find out the results today on that. Saw Jaci this weekend and looking well. She is ready to be done - and should only have about 10 more days - if baby cooperates.

If there are any changes or updates, just let me know and I will try to keep the chart in order and up to date.

Post by: stdtra14 on April 21, 2009, 08:24:35 AM: I was scared to have a c-section with my first, but due to the long labor, and never completely dilating - we ended up having one. The healing time isn't really that much longer. I felt really pretty good afterwards. Didn't have to worry about tearing, or having an episiotomy, the "ring of fire" as was described to me, or stitches "down there". They say having your first BM after the baby can be difficult - but it wasn't with the C-section. (Oh, and they don't knock you completely out) I was awake for the whole thing. The only time they would put you completely under would be if there were an emergency and they don't have time for the epidural to take affect. I was in recovery for about 30 minutes until my feeling in my legs came back, but was up and moving around the room shortly after that.

I got the extra 2 weeks off from work, but really didn't need it. I did need the full 8 weeks before I was comfortable riding again. I could walk and trot a little, but the faster stuff I found out quick that I needed the extra 2 weeks. Stomach was still pretty sore.

When my doctor actually told me that I would have to have another C-section with this one, I was actually excited. My scheduled date is June 22nd at 12:30. I'm already counting down the days, 62 to be exact.

But for me the c-section was Great!! We got there at 5:30 am, in the OR at 7:40, Jaycee was here at 7:57, and we were in a room by 8:30. Everything went smooth and the recovery was not Bad at all! My sister-inlaw had a natural delivery in Aug and her recovery was far worse than mine!! We will have our second c-section May 29th!

Good Luck to you guys!! We can't wait to see pictures of the Newest EB Princess!!

I had mine a week early and the doctor never even mentioned or was concerned about the baby's lungs. So all should be well. For her sake and the babies I would go to my doctor's appt and tell them just to go ahead and take the baby. A few days wont make a difference. Best of luck to Jaci and I hope that by the end of the week she has a baby. There is nothing more exciting than holding that little baby in your arms for the first time. The only part of the C-section that killed me was not getting to hold her right away. I think that I finally got into my room at around 830pm and then they brought her in almost immediately. She was born at 634pm.

I had all 3 of mine old fashion...but with meds:) Labor was short and easy...with the 1st, was in the hospital at 12 noon and had him at 7:35 pm..the 2nd in the hospital at 6:30 am and had him at 2:35 pm....YALL WILL LOVE THIS....the 3rd, in the hospital at 10:45 am and had him at 2:37 pm...THAT'S NOT EVEN 4 HOURS OF LABOR...I am getting my tubes tied AND my husband is getting fixed. I am 29 (in May) was 19 with my 1st and 24 with my 2nd. Done before 30:)

I competed until I was 5 months and pleasure rode until I was 7. My mare totally took care of me. I think she knew!!!

I will admit it is hard to get back to riding with a new born, but it does get easier and they do get older. In a way, I am glad that my mare is down right now with her injury (I am sorry she is hurt). It gives me time to enjoy being a mom and not have to worry about hitting the next barrel race or getting out to practice. I feed, groom, clean stalls and tuck them in at night--that's it. I will have to say that I enjoy getting out for that short time to spend with the horses.....kind of a stress relief!! Being that I have 3 boys, if any of you new moms need any advice or have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask...i will do my best to help!

That's good that you can keep working right up to the end. I plan on working till the Thursday prior to my c-section that is scheduled on a Monday. I wanted to have 3 days off just to get as much done at the house as I could prior to new baby. You know, getting all the last bit of clothes washed, etc. so that i don't have to worry about that as much when I come home. This is my 2nd child (girl also) and having something to do seems to help. I would go stir crazy if I were just at home for too long before and all I was doing was watching the clock.

On the first one (we didn't know we were going to have to have a c-section) and I remember just waiting on the due date and trying to analyze every little twinge wondering if it was "that time" yet. Now that I have an exact date and time - I actually think I am a little more nervous. 56 days, 3 hours, and 24 minutes....but who's counting, right?

I did some cleaning out of her room, did laundry, did dishes, put the base for the baby carrier in my car and packed my bag as much as possible. I couldn't stay home either. We have to use our sick/vacation/family time when we are off after having the baby where I work and I want to be off till the end of July so I'm saving as much time as I can. I work 10 hour days when I'm off for a day with a dr appt (I live over a hour from where I work so if the appt is in the morning, it's not worth driving into work afterwards).
I found out two weeks before my first was due that I was having a C-section because she was breeched. I'd never had surgery so it scared me to death. I'm not good with needles! Now I'm just not trying to get nervous about surgery again. My friends say I'm spoiled because I've never had a contraction or anything. This time it is different though because this one is head down and I can feel the pressure and everything so far.

It wasn't good - don't know if she just used too large a needle or what, but it was nothing like giving blood. I protected my arm like it was made of gold! They wanted to remove it on the day I was supposed to be discharged, (a couple of hours prior) and I told them no way until I had my discharge papers and the wheelchair was ready to take me to the car. I said because if there is any type of mistake, they were not putting another IV in my arm!

I still think I'm more freaked out about that than the surgery. Once I get past that point, I can worry about the rest. lol

I've learned I have to pace myself & take more sit-down breaks. Cleaning house is more one-room-a-day instead of trying to attack the whole house at once.

Two weeks ago at the last apointment, I had my jeans on, just had lunch, and was unable to go to the bathroom first. But hey, at least I'm still not gaining....

I am 5 days into my 31st week, but she says that I am still measuring for 30. The doctor had to go and deliver a baby, so I didn't get to see her. Also, since I'm having some swelling in my ankles and more frequent back pain - she is going to have the doctor review my chart when she gets back just as a precaution. (both the doctor and the Nurse Practitioner were out of the office).

55 days and slowly counting down....

Hope everyone else is feeling fine and stress free.

We went to the doctor Monday and everything looked great! I had lost 2 pounds, so that put my total weight gain at 18 pounds. So thats a little less than what I gained at 34 weeks with my first. It getting closer for sure.

As far as the c-sections................for me thats the only way!! LOL I was given the choice and I opted for the c-section. My doctors gave me a 50-50 chance to have Jaycee with prolly 20 + hours of labor, or have a c-section. So thats the route we took! And with no regrets!! I just don't think labor is for me!! LOL Little did we know (until after first c-section) my pelvic bones are inverted, so............I would have never had her natural anyways!! Thats my story!! LOL

By the time my c-section comes around, you're weight will be falling off, and mine will probably be at its peak. Also, you will be just about ready to start riding again, whereas we will still be suffering with recovering. LOL

I've gained a lot less weight this time so I'm hoping that it comes off a bit easier. I'm taking off till the end of July and I'll be trying to stay active the whole time to help the weight come off. My hubby is a workout freak so I'm sure he will be all for helping me out. ;D

So, I have a doctor appointment earlier, and on my way out of the office, I tell a co-worker "I should be back a little after 12:00 - unless I go into labor...hahaha". I will never make another joke about pre-term labor on my way to the doctor's office again!!

I get to the doctor's office 20 minutes early and still had to wait an extra 15 minutes because the waiting room is full of people. Once inside, the nurse asked if I had any questions (you know, the norm). I told her that everything seems to be fine, other than I feel that I maybe starting to have the Braxton Hicks "false" contractions. I get them throughout the day, nothing painful, but my entire abdomen is really tightening up and it nearly takes my breath away. I've been getting winded just walking to the restroom or to my car while at work. But other than that, they aren't painful or anything. Sometimes they last about 10 - 15 minutes, but eventually go away.

She said that it's normal, but I should mention it to the doctor when she comes in. So I did.

Here's where it gets interesting.....so the doctor comes in and I tell her just what I told the nurse. After a couple of checks with the tape measure and her pressing around on the belly, she hands my one of those lovely drapes and says I need to strip from the waist down that she needs to do some checks. Oh NO! I wasn't planning on anytype of "internal" checkup! I haven't shaved!

So once I get over that little shock and humiliation, she comes back into the room to check me. Before she begins, she states that she is going to do a couple of small tests (whatever that might be), and that if I test positive, I may have to be monitored more closely or even the possibility of being put on bed rest!!! WHAT!! :o

You could have blown me off that table with a feather. I still have 41 days till my scheduled C-section - which also means nearly 5 weeks of work!!

Thankfully, after her exam (which is always a wonderful experience...) she said that all is still closed up tightly and all looks well. Pheeeww! Thank you for that scare. She did say that I need to watch and if I start to have more than 6 within an hour, to come back to be monitored. Will Do!

CodyH, looks like you are next in line. How are you feeling? I know I'm down to 34 days, and I'm already to the point of "I'm tired of being pregnant!". I forgot since the first how difficult it is to put on shoes, get in and out of bed, recliner, bath tub, etc. I just keep thinking of a turtle rolled on its back and it can't get up. lol

You would think that my horses would be a little more considerate to the fact that I am pregnant and every task at this point is a chore, but uh No! Everytime I need to catch them - they stay way down at the other end of the 2 1/2 acres and make sure that I have to walk every step, just watching me the whole time! I guess it is good exercise - but I'm not laughing.....by the time I walk all the way out there, then I have to turn around and come all the way back! I only washed 3 horses yesterday, cleaned and conditioned the hooves on 2 of them, and poured up all the feed and hay (while hubby was mowing the yard) and I was exhausted! I could barely make it back to the house.

I hope all of you ladies that are down to the end of the pregnancy are going through the same things!!! And to those of you just starting - your turn is coming...

Sugar test was fine, that stuff wasnt too bad. Just tasted like a flat Sunkist Orange drink. I tried staying at the lab and just waiting it out but there was this little girl in there that was wired like a $4 microwave. I had to get outta there! haha I went and wandered around the Dollar Store for about 30 minutes and then went back to the lab. My next appointment is Wednesday, hopefully all is good on the report. After this appt we start going every two weeks.

My Mom called about the time I was getting ready to go and she saved the day. Came by, got my list and made my WalMart run for me. Yay!!!

We went in Monday for a sono to make sure that everything would be okay if we didn't induce and let her come whenever she was ready (my body was saying it would be a while). After the sono the Dr said "How would you feel about having a baby tonight?" It was thought by the sono that she weighed 8 lbs 12 ozs and the Dr was worried she would have to break bones to get her out because she was so thick so we immediately scheduled the c-section. Right before Dr cut me open she said "Your too small and I don't believe for a second that she weighs that much." Well... She weighed a whole lb more than that. There was a very scary first 9 minutes as it took every bit of that for her to catch her breath. She was in so much fluid prior to delivery that she was almost at the point at drowning. The Dr just kept repeating "Today was a great day to deliver this baby." This tells me that she didn't think she would have had nearly as much a chance at catching that first breath if we had waited any longer. Apparently I developed late term gestational diabetes causing this series of problems.
We are all great now! She is absolutely beautiful and is super healthy! She is feeding wonderfully and sleeping great and her mom and dad couldn't love her anymore!!! I learned a big lesson from this... Don't spend your fortune on "newborn" clothing! NONE of it fit her!!! ;D

I read your post to Brad last night and now we have a friendly wager, he has everything up to 8lbs and I have 8lbs and up. I have no clue what this baby will weigh but I have a sneaking suspicion we'll be above the 8lb mark.

I say a C-Section is the only way to have a baby! The bad part this time for me was being away from Jaycee. Since I couldn't pick her up for a few days, she went with her Daddy during the day. That was HARD!! Going from spending every second with her to not seeing her much was a Killer. My staples came out Tuesday (4 days later), and she has been home with me every since!! I am loving every second with these two girls! Enjoy every second because they grow too fast!

I hope all of you Preggos ladies are stayin cool! Looks like the heat is about to arrive!

Thanks!! Jaycee looks at little scared in that picture! We were still at the hospital and she does Not like that place. She remembers the pedi clinic is there and that means shots!! LOL Mom is doing Great! She came down for a visit yesterday! =)

Madison is so mommy crazy now and it's hard sometimes since I spent all my time with her and spoiled her rotten before Taylor got here. She's starting to get used to sharing and luckily she loves her baby sister. For some reason Madison loves the hospital and asks me every day if she can go back. I hope that means she's going to be a dr or nurse. lol I'm getting a little bit of sleep but I hope it's more before I go back to work. Good luck to all the girls that are still pregnant! Stay cool!

I went to a wedding today and there was a little boy there that's 3 weeks. So precious!! I get tickled, my Mom almost loses her breath around little ones. She loves babies! She's babysitting for a family friend that their little girl is 2 months now. Lindsey goes back to work Monday so its Mom's first official day with Katie. She's kept her a couple of times but Monday is her first day 'back on the job'.

I'm basically trying to sleep during the day when daddy is awake as I can't sleep at all at night for sitting and staring at her scared she might stop breathing... I invested in an AngelCare Monitor though so maybe tonight I will sleep more peacefully.

I'm feeling great - for the most part. A little cramping and pressure, but nothing real serious. I go to two dr. appointments on Wednesday. One is to the specialist for the follow up ultrasound (should be the last one); and the other is a routine Dr. visit. 14 days and counting till my c-section. Everything is ready for Sydneys arrival - just haven't finished packing my bag. Mostly, because I am still wearing some of the clothes I plan to take. Most of the necessities are packed so i could always just grab and go if needed. My last day at work is planned for Thursday the 18th. I don't have internet at home, but since I will have my work laptop, I am hoping to be able to stay in touch.

Any word on Misty yet. Someone said they though she was due on the 8th (today).

I have a question - does anyone know if you can see the hair on the ultrasound pics? I finally got a good b/w picture of her face, but I still can't tell if she is going to have hair or not. Funny thing is that I compared this pic with that of my 1st daughter and they look almost identical! Same cheeks, mouth, chin and even in almost the exact same position.

I've been having a few dreams where this little one is going to have darker hair. My first was bald till she was 1. Now she has long thick blonde hair. Since the pics are so similar - I'm assuming that she is also going to be bald.....I guess I'd better stock up on the headbands...

Ok TxRodeoChick & MRT05 - how's it going girls? There's a big gap between today and December, ya'll are going to have to keep us in the loop.

All you girls that have already had yours -- come on, updates!! That's what this thread is for -- we get to brag shamelessly!!

Our little man is doing great. He's came off the bubble-pap (like a cpap for babies) in less than 48 hours, which they had told us to expect him to be on that 5-7 days. Then he came of his iv, which made me take a huge sigh of relief. It came out Wednesday (I think), sorry my days seem to blur lately ;-) He's up to 34ml of mommymoojuice every feeding and doing very well. His day nurse took a PRECIOUS pic of him and made Brad a Father's Day card. Gimme a minute and I'll get it on here. She positioned him on his tummy so none of his monitor stickers or wires were showing, bare bottom & layed him on his side so that you have to really know his feeding tube is there to see it. We were so excited to see him look so much like a 'regular' baby. At first it was real hard to see past all his wires but now that I know what everything is for its not near as intimidating.

I'm headed back to the NICU as soon as I feed, will spend my day with my Boss. All my FtW area peeps - visitors are always welcome. You just have to be sure we are there, they will only let 2 people back there at a time & one of the two has to be me or Brad. We are there until 12 or 1 every night, I try to get there as early as possible but it seems like about 10am is the best I can do. Once I pump at 8, go feed horses and get there. He loves pretty cowgirls. Oh -- ya'll will like this. I got everything ready to pump about 11 yesterday morning and as I was getting 'situated' I noticed I had hay down my shirt. The wind caught it when I threw Pug's hay. I guess he send B2 a snack from him -- haha!!

We came home on Thursday, but have been back to the doctor and the clinic for bloodwork 3 times due to her weight loss and jaundice. She was 7.14 when she was born but lost down to 7.3. She is now back up to about 7.8 and doing well. Having to wake her every 3 hours to feed. Having some trouble with the breast feeding so I am just pumping and giving it to her in bottles, since Tuesday. Whatever works right. My little piranha/bulldog just is too aggressive and can't get the latch on correct. So we had to come to a compromise.

Hope everyone is doing well - like I said, haven't had much time to read all the daily posts, so I just came to this one to catch up.

All is good here. Bradley is up to 4lb 12.1oz as of last weigh in. Today is a big day, we have built up to no more tube feeds. Yay ;-) he's got to nurse for everything he gets. He's going to be tired until he gets adjusted but it's a giant step in the right direction for him to come home. I got an email notification that some of the nursery furniture is ready to be picked up today.

Cody or Lacee - if u see this please post that new pic I sent last night. Thank ya
