Michigan Horse Abuse Debate Rages on! Latest News!

(1/1)

glhorsetruth:
The latest from Jackson County Michigan:

BREAKING NEWS ALERT
Jackson County Animal Control is in the process as we speak of seizing 6 essentially healthy horses from a Northern Jackson County Farm.
The story as I understand it is:
Animal Control fired Dr. Sray after 29 years of service.
They have a new contracted veterinarian, unsure of who it is at this moment.
AC came onto this man's property yesterday.
He has 6 horses.  2 broodmares nursing foals were in thin condition.
The new veterinarian apparently said it did not appear to be an abuse case.
AC removed a 3 month old foal from it's mother and took it off the property.
AC told the owner he had to get hay because AC didn't like the pasture.
AC told him to get grain to feed ALL of the horses.  Apparently most are pasture ornaments.
AC told him he needed to vaccinate the horses and get coggins tests on ALL of them.
AC told the owner he could have any veterinarian out there so long as it was NOT Dr. Sray!
AC showed up today with trucks and trailers and are removing all 6 horses!   This is after the guy worked all day to fix the issues AC said fix!  They have ticketed him for each horse and will probably be filing criminal charges.
Thank you Judge Joseph Filip of 12th District Court for opening this door!  Can anyone now say I was wrong?  I have contacted Kristin Longley of Jackson Citizen Patriot and Beth Shayne of WILX with this information! I have spoken on the phone with both of them.

Update:

I just got home from this farm. Took the videocamera. All of the horses were not in optimal shape. However, there are 2 mares who were nursing foals. There was a stallion that needed a little weight on him. They have removed the foal, but when I was escorted off the property by Michigan State Police, they had not removed other horses. There were some issues, but they weren't abuse or starvation. Nothing that simple education/working with the owners couldn't solve.

I introduced myself to the owner (of course she knew who I was from the news) and asked her if I could walk with her to videotape AC. We went down and AC called 911 saying I was being assaultive and aggressive. They did this before when I went to MSU for treatment of a colt from our farm.

Lights and sirens blaring, the township police and State Trooper came! They tried to turn the owners against me by threatening them with jail time for allowing me on the property!!!!! The owners were obviously scared of this threat, AC preys on people's fears!

Prosecutor Jennifer Lamp was contacted and apparenty they don't want anyone seeing what they are doing during an investigation, that is why I was made to leave.

I HAVE IT ALL ON VIDEOTAPE! It will be part of youtube when it's finished and presentable. WHAT DO THEY HAVE TO HIDE? WHAT'S THE HARM IN VIDEOTAPING? WHAT DO THEY HAVE TO HIDE?
