I learned all about the clutch when I was 12 and on that old tractor with no brakes. I was leaving one of the back hay fields, we have a hill that is steep.. I pushed the clutch down..and down we went, faster and faster. I'm thinking UH OH..what NOW?? So I press down on the brakes..no brakes. NEVER thought of turning loose of the clutch. I got to the bottom of the hill. SLOWELY went to the house all up hill parked it behind the barn and told him what happend. He told me why didn't you pull the emergency brake to stop? Uhh the E brake is by my feet, I wasn't leaning down to grab it, and it didn't cross my mind.
