2008 San Antonio Livestock Show $17,000 Added Barrel Race

I am real excited about a BIG livestock show adding that much money for a real barrel race & pole bending.......sounds like it might be a cool new concept at the stock shows!!!!  >PEACE<

This is not an AQHA show....San Antonio will still have their AQHA show the following weekend...look at the website listed to see for sure. 

The $17,000 Barrel Race is not an AQHA show.

There is plenty to see and do between runs and after the show the vendor booths are set up right outside the building in another building but close and you can shop til you drop

We ran than a couple of years back and they keep the ground nice thru out the entire barrel race and yes the pen is small but good!  San Antonio is always a blast to go to and yes there is plenty of shopping and fun to have.  See you guys there!! <|:)

What about stalls?  Is this going to be in their regular premium list so we enter that way, and can reserve stalls etc?  Hookups?

I printed out the entry form and it asked for the registration info, so I wasn't sure if the horse had to be registered.  I'm thinking about entering.  What else is required to run there?  Health certificate?  etc.  So any more info would be appreciated.

I went to web site listed and cant find where the due by date. Does anyone know? I think I would like to go to this show but want to get in on time.

4JS, the registration info may not have been changed on the forms as it used to be the BFA futurity which the horse had to have registration to verify age for the futurity. :see-ya:

Horse does not have to be registered to enter.....there is a paragraph in there somewhere about health certificates, coggins, etc.  You enter through the regular premium book......the pre entry dates are on the entry form/rules but if I remember correctly it was January 10th maybe and online entry by Jan. 20th with no late fee....

The horse show office staff at San Antonio are very helpful, do not hestitate to call them, you can ask for Sara Motal, she is who I have worked real close with over the phone.  All stalls will be reserved through the stock show as well.  phone # 210-225-1309

JUst make sure that your health papers and coggins are very readable.  They turned some people away last year because they said they couldln't read the vet's hand writing.  Also give  yourself plenty of time to get there, because the check in line can be very long!!!!!!!!

so we HAVE to get a stall?? that kinda sucks at $45 is that per day or ?? you also have to fill out a substitue w9 form...

So do you have to have a stall even if you live close enough to drive back and forth?  Also are health certificates required even if you don't come from out of state?

Anyone know the answers?
