Brhorses...7 years ago I went through the exact same thing. I had a lump in my throat. I went through the needle biopsy. They could not tell if the lump was cancerous or not. They removed the left side of my thyroid. I was in the hospital for 2 days. While there they did a biopsy of the lump. THANK GOD it was not cancer. Just a rather large goiter (sp?). I now have a 3 inch scar on my throat...most people do not even notice it unless I point it out. I do have to take synthroid everyday for the rest of my life, since removing half of my thyroid. But I would much rather have to take a pill then have to deal with what the alternative could have been.

I know that we do not know each other, but if you have any questions, just pm me. I would be more than happy to pass on any of my knowledge to you. I know exactly what you are going through...I'll be thinking and praying for you. All will be all right!!!!

Yea running the cans! You are the answer to prayers! Having someone to talk to that has gone through the same thing is a huge relief. At least she will know exactly what to expect. Brhorses is such a sweetheart, ya ll need to get together and talk, you will love her! I thank Debhorses for introducing us, I have made the best friends through introductions!  :look:

No lumps on my thyroid, but mine screwed up so bad, they nuked it about 5 years ago and have been on synthroid for that many years.   I just have to remember to take the dang thing every day!

I mean it when I say to get with me if you have any questions or need someone to talk to. I pretty much went through it by myself. Of course my family was there, but no one had ever been thorugh anything even close to this.

I remember there was 1 lady at work whose husband had his removed, so at least I had someone that I could ask if I had questions.

I live out in Katy...not sure where you are at brhorses, but a phone call only takes seconds to make.

Hey br...I had that done too!  It was a cold nodule.  They just removed that thryoid and I have to take thyroid pills for the rest of my life.  I'm sure you'll have good results too.  Too many people praying.  hang in there girl.

Oh  btw...forgot to mention that if they do have to remove your thyroid, you aren't allowed any crawfish, margaritas or any type of sweets for the rest of your life.  That's the only downside!
