Well, an early CONGRATS on your first foaling! It's still exciting to me every year and I've been doing it since I was around 5-6 years old. I've seen mares bag up like yours for two months prior to foaling, some that wax 24-48 hours prior, some that don't wax at all, some that drop milk before the foal, some that don't drop milk until afterwards, they are all different. They generally do the same thing from year to year, if you know what they did the previous years, it helps. Some mares foal within days of their expected foaling date, some early, some hold out for over a year. As for the one mare I have in foal right now, she's well over a year and does it every year, she makes me so mad. I come home every day thinking, she has to foal or she's going to explode b/c her belly is SO tight! But, alas..I'm still waiting, she will have it eventually. It will be really exciting for Rilee & Tanner, a neat experience!
