Whats going on??

So yesterday my horse had some boogers in her eyes and they were slightly weapy....this morning she has even more boogers and they are really weapy and alittle red/puffy..any suggestions? I called the vet and am waiting for her to call back...I'm gonna go clean her eyes and put a fly mask on her..does anyone know what it could be?  :blah:

My old horse use to get like that and it was combo of flies and dust. Allergies. You did good, keep the goop out and the fly mask will help a lot. You can also go get that clear eyes for horses (TSC) and use that. Also, some benadryl helps too. You can give up to 2 per 100 pounds. Try a low does of 3-4 25 mg tabs and see if that helps some.

watch for their tear ducts to be stopped up .. they may need to be flushed ..

we have to keep fly masks on all of our horses because they get sooo bad if we dont

They can also get pink eye.  Is it in both eyes?  If not, watch out and don't wipe both eyes with the same pad or the other eye will get it too.

The vet thinks its conjuctivitis(sp) She will just get alittle eye ointment for a few day..its ok though  :cheeze:
