I made my soup last night, with venison, first time to use that, and it turned out really good! Now I have enough of that to last for the rest of the week. I also did my 20 min Turbo Jam. I think tonight I'll try and do the Turbo Scuplt one.
For breakfast I had the weight control maple and brown sugar oatmeal. I brought some of my soup for lunch today, and I have an apple planned for a snack later on. I'm still working on my first 34oz of water.
Ok, to those of you who are feeling down about not sticking 100% to a "diet", you need to get that word out of your vocabulary. We are not "dieting", we are making changes to our eating habits, and what we eat. We are on the quest of knowledge to learn about food, how it fuels our bodies, what makes us feel better, and what brings on those cravings that drive us to become mad women! Yes I know we are doing this as a competition, but don't you see that all of us are going to win, one way or another, because we are going to become healthier.
Now as far as cravings go, you need to find something else to do, or eat, to subside those cravings. If you are craving cake, brownies, chocolate, sugar, etc...eat some fruit (small portion) and drink a lot of water. Then if the craving is still there 30 mins. later, allow yourself to have a SMALL portion, that way you aren't completely depriving yourself, but you are making small changes. Baby steps, it's all about changing things here and there. Oh and ladies, if you really want some help, get the rest of your family and friends on board. Let them know what you are doing, tell them that you need their help to keep you accountable. I know a lot of you have husbands or boyfriends that would just as soon let you give into all your cravings, but let them know how much this means to you, and that it's hard to change eating habits overnight. I mean think about it, we've spent years eating the way we do, how can you change that overnight? Let them know that you are going to be craving stuff, bad stuff, left and right, and that you need them to help you to shut down that craving. Have them tell you, "no, you can't have that", "Is that on your meal plan", "are you going to do extra exercise to work that off", etc. I got called out last night by Steven, I went to the fridge and grabbed an Ace Pear and started drinking it, and he said, "I thought you weren't allowed to have that"?. He was right, I wasn't supposed to be having that, I'd been caught red handed, I still had it, but I won't be having one tonight, or the rest of the week.
Also you should allow yourself to have a treat if you meet your goal. Go get a pedicure, massage, new tack, whatever it is that you want, you have to reward yourself for being good, otherwise it all seems like work all the time. We need to makeover our minds about food and fitness. Just think what we are going to look and feel like come 3/30/09!! Come on ladies, lets help each other out. If you want, you can PM me for my cell phone number, and give me a call whenever you are having a craving, and I will help talk you through it. We can do this, I know it's day 3 and it may seem like it's hard, but we will get through it, together!
