New but ready for action!
« on: February 05, 2009, 01:32:24 PM »

Hi! I am 17 and I own two pintos. What is actually cool about them is that one is the mother (Mandy) and the other is  her daughter (Madyn..pronounce like maiden). I baught them form the same people, but about 3 years apart. Mandy was 18 at the time (now 21) but still has that get up and go that will take me anywhere. Madyn is now 5 years old and we have had a trainer come out every Sunday for the past 2 1/2 months. She has all her ground  work done (she is super smart!) and we have ridden her since we got her 3 months ago. She used to buck, but I personally got it out of her. I am wanting to get her going on Barrel racing of course! But I have to be patient...*sigh*. But so far, I can lead her around with not halter or lead (I only do it in the pasture...just in case) and she is learning to side-step from the ground. Oh, yeah! she also pivots on her front feet while I ride her (I taught her that and its a bit rusty)

So whats up with you? Tell me about your experiences!  <:)
