Latest update~ Poop has mass now!! Its still runny and its still mustard yellow, but there is some solid particles in there~~~Also, i took them for a walk. See I have to keep the mare from grazing....anyhow, I took them for a walk and Bailey was running around us!! She even bucked...well as much as a 4 day old filly with long legs can... :) Momma's bag is not near as full. I am thinking that the issue was the mare was producing almost too much milk and it was really rich. The mare's bag was hot, but the milk was not stinky.....Everyone is doing way better. I am still waiting on fedex for the next round of bio sponge. I am gonna say that the biosponge is saving my filly!

Hooray for good news!
When you get thrown from a horse, you've got to get up and get back on.....unless you were thrown into a cactus, then you have to roll around on the ground, and scream in pain.

OK, this may be a stupid question, but I need to know. If the mare's milk is too rich, why can you not just milk her, cut it half and half with water and feed it back to the foal?

So glad to hear she is better, when I saw pictures of the mare and foal, that grass was really green. Less grass will help to get that milk under control.

Well really and truly its because I want the filly to nurse from Momma...But yeah that is what I am basically doing. Milking her down so the new milk is being rushed..LOL and not as concentrated.

I will get more pics today. Been kinda siting around today. Not motivated yet.

OK I am worried again. She is alert and will run around, but she is shaking. Its not cold out but cooler than it was around noon. She is laying down a lot more too. I just let them out of the stall to see if she will nurse some more and move around more...Here are pics  I took around 3 today. She looks really poor guys.

Hey Rachael...I dont mean to sound dumb here, but have you thought maybe she has coccsidiosis? I do not know a thing about babies, never had a mare give birth..I know that our little baby goats got it sometimes. Not even real sure how or what causes it..Cant remember.
You all may have already suggested this.......I have not read all the thread here to see excatly what was thought to be wrong with the baby.
Just a thought !!!  Never had a foal so dont think I'm stupid people..just trying to help...It sounded to me kinda like that???? Who know's?

I just read this, and I REALLY hope the baby starts getting better soon!!  Have you talked to a vet?
Also, what happened to the kitty?
