Yes, if I am having a joint or soreness problem sometimes I will give up to 10cc (the whole bottle).

Thanks HT!  I'll send you an email later in the week.

Just curious with peeps that have used it, do you give a loading dose?  I wasn't told to give one that's why I'm curious.  I did find a thread on it from previous and it says some gave a loading dose and some didn't.

Any information would be helpful if you've used it.

I give 5cc IV then 5-10days later give another 5cc and then let the horse tell me.  If I have been going hard I will give it every week or so.  I really like it.

Yes to loading dose then 5cc every other week.  I saw big improvements when I used it.  (sold the horse, don't use it anymore)  I now use Lubrysin on my colt as I don't want to start inj if I can avoid and I can tell a big difference since I started using it also.

When i tried it, I didn't know about doing a loading dose.  I just used it as a maintenance once a month and saw no results.  It is cheaper than Adequan or Legend, so I went with it.  I haven't used it in a while, but I am considering the loading dose thing now that I have read it.

I am using Total Control for joints on my horse, and I use Actiflex 4000 on the colts.

Polyglycon goes to all joints, not just the hocks or just the stifle, etc.  We normally give it once per/month IV or if we are on the road a lot we give it twice a month.  This is our vets advice and he is one of the best equine vets there is.

Did you give a loading dose?  What I'm trying to decide is should I give 5 CC this week and 5 CC next week before I go to Ardmore since she has never been on any poly, legend or adequan?

I just read this when doing a search about Polyglycon.

Polyglycan is a generic drug in the true sence of the word. Both Legend and Adequan have current patents on them which prevents them from being fomulated exactly.
Polyglycan is currently labled for the washing of a joint surface during an articular surface surgery, not for IM or IV injections. However it is sold in an injectible bottle abnd many people do inject it. However if you have an adverse reation you would be considered to be giving the drug differently then the label and would not be covered by the company making the product if there is an adverse reation.

Yup, and that is why it is $30 a shot, not $75 like Legend and $45 like Adequan. I have used all of them, and have never had a problem/reaction with any of them.

I am Like Kathy, I use it once a month, 5cc. It goes to all joints, not just hocks or stifles, but knees fetlocks and all over....
I did not give a loading dose either.
