CROOKED STIRRUPS ??????

Just curious if anyone likes the crooked stirrups and if so what are the pro and cons ?

OK i have tried some..and for me, it made my knees and ankles actually hurt worse so I went with a 3 inch wide off set instead of crooked. They are great! I have heard a LOT of folks swear by them and say that I was a fluke, but I know my pain was real. I only ran one run in them and that was enough to take them off. But, I have arthritis in my hips, ankle and knees...so maybe it was too much change too fast for me?

I thought crooked stirrups were the bomb - til someone told me I had them turned the wrong way!!  Then I found the S.A. Walls 3.5" across the bottoms?  They are so cool.  But my Bob Marshall's original stirrups and very nice, really comfy, so I have retired the Walls.

I had a pair of walls...my foot seemed to get hung in the rubber, bought a pair of originals and I loved them

I bought a pair from Melaself, and I love them.  They seem to let my crooked right hip fall the correct way.  And my bum knee on the other side doesn't hurt anymore.   Thank you, Mel!!!!

GB your weren't the only one. We had a set our old boss had on a saddle. I hated em my ankles would hurt for days if I had to rope in them much. They were the roper ones and I couldnt use my feet properly on those green colts. I like plain ole stirrups.

I have the Walls and love them. But, I had the same problem with my foot getting hung up in the rubber and leather guard on the bottom of the stirrup. So, I took it off and replaced it with a non-skid adhesive pad like you find on ladder rungs. That stopped my big feet from getting hung when I get off. My mare is shaped like a barrel through her ribs and back and it was putting extreme torque on my knees and hips with regular stirrups. The Walls stirrups fixed all that.
