This is just horrible.  I think Wal-Mart should require all female workers not to go to their cars without a male co-worker, or several people (male or female).  I pray for the family and that they find the girl alive and unharmed.

Is there a better description of her truck that I may have missed somewhere? I can't see that video very well.........

I don't know about a better description, I will go check the local news websites. I have old, slow dial up so I didnt even attempt to look at the video.

I'll post anything else I find.

Just saw on CNN that they found the suspect and her truck in Wilcox AZ. She hasn't been found. I can't remember if they said that was 900 miles away or 9 hours away. Either way....... that's a long way away. Prayers for her safety.

They found her body in Stanton (near Midland).  Continued prayers for her family. May justice be swift and this scum bag be convicted.

Sad day in TX.

What a senseless tragedy!  >:(  Makes me sick! Prayers for this beautiful girl's family and friends. JMHO, But I think every girl that is old enough in Texas should go take a weapons class AND a self-defense course and get their concealed gun license!

The sickening part is he was there for several hours and had even been approached by and talked to the security officer. Can you imagine if you were a female that had been in this WalMart around this time yesterday? Cold chills would run through me and the realization that he was a dangerous predator and it could have been me would just about bring me to my knees. It bothers me that the ball was dropped and employess weren't required to buddy up to leave. I know you can't shut the store down every time a weirdo hangs around but dang, did this really have to happen??

I had a guy follow me one morning real early in a WalMart. I was working at the bank at the time and we were having a home-made ice cream making contest. My old ice cream freezer had died and I had to get one on my way to work early one morning. They didn't have one on the side of town near the bank( I had called the day before to check) so I had to go all the way to the one on Arkansas side. He kept being on every aisle that I went down. Sorta creeped me out so I mentioned it to the cashier that checked me out. Then as I walked to my truck I could just "feel" him. Sure enough he was about 20 steps behind me, it was 7am and there weren't may people in the parking lot. I positioned the buggy between me and him and opened my truck door. I threw that ice cream freezer so hard I thought I broke it. I was just trying to chunk it to my passenger seat so I could get in and GO but my adrenaline was going crazy. I got in my truck and shook half the day. I called the police and had to go look through tons of pictures, but never did see one that was him....or that I thought was him. They pulled the video and saw it all but couldn't identify him either.

I agree to some extent Pam, but you know as well as I do that not all females (or males for that matter) have enough functioning brain cells to carry a weapon. I do agree with the self defense course. I thought about one after my WalMart episode. That's been a couple of years ago and of course with time I've moved on and let it fade from memory.

Prayers for this girl's family. Their grief has got to be horrible.

Yes, I should have added "responsible, level-headed" girls. Thanks. I've been in many, many scary situations like yours. I finally got to the point that I was angry enough to NEVER let anyone even think about harming me or my family! After working at a jail and behind a police radio for so long..........you'd be surprised at who is walking around town in stores in your small town. It would make you NEVER let your guard down. I think the most important tool we women have, and I'm sure Deb Brown will back me on this, is our intuition. Don't EVER blow it off........listen to your gut.......

I've been followed more than once. Its pretty scary.

I am very sad for this girls family. My prayers are with them.

What's the point of the security cameras at WalMart if no one is watching them. Didn't anyone think strangely of someone hanging around in the parking lot for TWO hours and occasionally starting to follow after women, then stopping?????

I don't know about elsewhere, but screaming for help and having anyone else's help would probably be more beneficial than some of the security guards I've seen at Walmart and the Mall.  I would LOVE to know what was said between the suspect and the security guard.

I will be taking my concealed weapon course soon. I had already planned on it, but scary things like this make me want to do it sooner.

I know of SEVERAL large businesses in this area that have shifts ending late that don't REQUIRE you to talk with someone to your car. One being the hospital. They OFFER an escort to your vehicle (since they make you park WAYYYY in the back, but they don't require you to take it. Also, if you park elsewhere, I am not sure of the circumstances.
If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
