This came to me while chopping wood the other day. You've heard don't sweat the small stuff. I say save it for later and use it for kindling

I am going to put a star on it like Tamet's desk I am thinking about putting a circle of barbed wire carved into the wood around the star. And maybe carving barbed wire in the part in between the two set of drawers

Years ago....we took an old dresser very similar to that one. It had belonged to an aunt and uncle...and none of their kids wanted it. And was sitting out on the front porch of Mr Lilly's grandparents house. They were gonna haul it off. So I took it.....

It had a couple drawer fronts messed up...one missing drawer. Cut if off and made it into a "hope chest" for Amanda. Put a piano hinge on the top of the dresser so it now opens like a cedar chest would. Took the drawers totally out, and just used the drawer fronts to cover the holes back up and screwed them in permanant. It's nothing really fancy, but it has sentimental value and it's hers to take with her when she goes.

Cool That is an idea that never crossed my mind. I have made other things out of lots of stuff but never a hope chest

No no no you cant make a hope chest out of that dresser dear.    :D
Aut viam inveniam aut faciam - I will either find a way or make one.  "Can't lives on Won't street."

Let us be reminded of what Captain John Parker told his army at Lexington Green, the place where the War for Independence began in 1775. He said, “Stand your ground. Don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.

I am not going to make a hope chest out of it. Just thought it was a cool idea.
