I am not going to make a hope chest out of it. Just thought it was a cool idea.

Just an idea to stick back off in the recesses of your brain for future projects huh? hehe

Bob- your work as always is WONDERFUL!  Nice job!

And just for the heck of it- where that piece was made- in Mayville, NY is/was about 70 miles west of where i live...  just a little trivia...  :)  you have some really cool ideas!

I couldn't sleep last night thinking about it. I had to set down and draw it out. It will be a one of a kind when I get done with it. I am amazed at the workmanship in this piece. It is really well made. I need to take the top off but I am wondering if it is even possible without messing it up.
This came to me while chopping wood the other day. You've heard don't sweat the small stuff. I say save it for later and use it for kindling

I like the top knob the best...second choice would be the bottom left one.

You know what Bob....by the time you finish this piece...your gonna decide it needs to stay right there at home instead of selling it. Your doin a wonderful job.....can't wait to see it when it's finished.

Thanks Katy. This is nothing compared to what I used to do. I used to made country french and Louis the 14th reproductions. The company I worked for had a bunch of their stuff in the movie (sp?) Amadeus. I also restored furniture from as far back as the 16th century

I personally like the second knobs the best for that piece. My opinion only. Lol.

It is going to be GORGEOUS when you are done with it! Can't wait to see it.
