« on: February 09, 2005, 02:21:13 PM »

This says it is from ebay but it's not and it looks offical even this site has the look of ebay. It's called a phishing scam, because they are fishing for your personal info. It won't be up but for a few days so look at it so you will know the scam.

Dear eBay member ,

During our regular and verification of the accounts we couldn't verify your current information, either your information Has changed or it is incomplete . if the account is not updated to current information within 5 days then , your access to Buy or Sell on eBay will be restricted

Go to the link below to Update your account information :

http://signin.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?SignIn&ssPageName=h:h:sin:US
It shows this link but it really goes to this link:
http://211.47.68.216/verify/index.php

The Problem is that it says it's going to: http://signin.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?SignIn&ssPageName=h:h:sin:US
It shows this link but it really goes to this link: http://211.47.68.216/verify/index.php which if it isn't down it will be soon because they are up for a few days then they move it somewhere else. This is a multi-million dollar business. Just be aware. It happens with CitiBank and Us Bank too. If you receive one of these kinds of emails call them if you have a question.
This came to me while chopping wood the other day. You've heard don't sweat the small stuff. I say save it for later and use it for kindling
