Poem - God's Arena
« on: December 16, 2014, 10:22:41 PM »
Hi, I just wanted to share a poem I wrote for my old rodeo gelding that I will have to be putting down this week due to old age, and health issues. I had the gelding since he was 6 months old, and trained him. He was a very special horse, and was my everything. I know many of you have lost great horses that are close to your hearts too, so thought you might enjoy this poem. I wrote it to help bring me closure to putting him down. I know in my heart it is the right thing to do, but my heart is breaking. It is like losing a member of my family. It hurts so much. Hope everybody enjoys the poem, and it is okay to share it with others. God Bless!

Running in God's Arena

It seems like just yesterday;
A sunny spring day when you were born
You ran about in the pasture, taking in all of life's wonders
Not knowing your destiny was to be a champion.
You had the heart of a champion, always doing what it
took to be #1;
You went through life chasing your dream, one barrel at a time
You made many friends along the way, and healed many broken hearts.
You never gave up, and just kept chasing your dreams
With lots of love, determination, and dedication you made it to the top
You have won your championship, and now it is time to go on another journey to the
greatest arena on earth;
You will travel to a place where pastures are always green, and the arena is perfect to run the race you were meant to run the perfect barrel pattern
Heaven awaits for a true champion to enter its arena where there are no hit barrels, and perfect ground
Your friend will grieve your loss, and her heart will break
You will always remain in my heart forever until I get someday to ride you in God's Arena ,and
Run a perfect pattern for ever more

Life without horses I don't think so!

Aut viam inveniam aut faciam - I will either find a way or make one.  "Can't lives on Won't street."

Let us be reminded of what Captain John Parker told his army at Lexington Green, the place where the War for Independence began in 1775. He said, “Stand your ground. Don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.
