Prayers for my friend and neighbor
« on: April 01, 2005, 07:54:59 AM »
Please pray for my neighbor.  She found out a couple of weeks ago that she has a brain tumor.  When her father passed away in January of this year, she decided that she was a "full-blown" medical exam.  During all of the tests, she told her doctor that she was concerned due to a tingling on her right side and thought it may be her heart.  He ordered a CAT scan and that is when they discovered the tumor.  The doctors in Austin didn't want to operate, so she went to San Antonio to a specialist.  She didn't like what he had to say, so she is going to MD Anderson in Houston this Sunday.  They have told her that they want to operate right away.  They also told her that there is a possibility that she will never walk again, but she has decided that she would rather be with her daughter and not be able to walk than not be around at all.  She is very positive and looking forward to the surgery.

Please pray for Benita Sorenson.

Thank you,
Karol Hammett <(' ')>

About a month or so ago, my neighbor and friend, Benita, had surgery to remove a tumor on her brain.   I did speak to her and she told me that while in surgery, she woke up.  Her doctor asked her how she was and she said that her right foot had gone numb.  The doctors stopped the operation.  She said that they only removed 20% of the tumor, but the doctors told her that if they had not know that she had no feeling in her foot and had continued with the operation, she might have been paralyzed.  She did have a seizure, but has recovered.  She can't drive for about 6 months.

She starts radiation in about a month.  The doctors have told her that she could live 2, 5 or even 10 years longer, but the tumor will never go away.  She has started on a vegetarian diet and order supplements.

She also received a telephone call from a teacher in Elgin who stated that her husband went through the same thing.  The doctors gave him no hope.  He went on supplements and at his 6 month visit the tumor was gone.

I pray for her each day and hope that she will live a long wonderful life.

My thoughts and prayers are with this family during this difficult time. <(' ')>
As long as you can't imagine it, as long as you can't see it, then it is not going to happen for you!

Please continue to pray for Benita Sorenson.  She left yesterday for MD Anderson to get a second opinion.  She may have surgery this week. <(' ')>

I spoke with Benita and she goes for surgery on the 15th of April.  The doctors told her that she could wait a couple of months, but she wants to do something now.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

Just wanted to thank everyone who said a prayer for my neighbor.  She went through radiation and had a follow up MRS the first of September.  The tumor has not grown and the doctors said it is in remission.  Many many thanks to you all.
