On a lighter note!
« on: July 26, 2005, 01:05:51 PM »
I think we all need to laugh today.

A minister was completing a sermon.  With great emphasis he said:  "If I had
all the beer in the world I'd take it & pour it into the river."

With greater emphasis he said:  "And if I had all the wine in the world I'd
take it and pour it into the river."

Finally shaking his fist he said:  "And if I had all the whiskey in the
world I'd take it and pour it into the river."

Sermon complete, he sat down.

The song leader stood very cautiously and announced with a smile, trying not
to laugh, "For our closing song let us sing Hymn #365' "Shall We Gather at
the River."

this is to funny  let's gather!!      My GrandMother told us girls when we were little ( we had gone to a funeral )  and they sang  shall we gather at the river  she was real good at letting you know what she thought!  I do not want that song sang at my funeral  they sing it at every funeral!  Guess what was sang at her funeral,  your right   and we  each looked at each other and smiled.   I'm kinda wondering if Daddy did that?

The whole time I was reading that, I was thinking in my head "Lets All Gather at the River" .

Raised up all my life in a church where my mother plays the organ and my father leads the worship and singing, and on top of that I married a preachers son, that song come straight to my mind.  How funny.  I'll have to tell my parents this one.  They will get a big kick out of it.

Enjoyed reading. rofl
