I think something should be done. It is the 3D people who I think will bring in more sponsors (why you ask) Because they spend more. Because the 3D are mostly the Dotors, Lawyers and Indain Chiefs. This isn't the derby. The derby is more like Nascar the folks there are not there for fun. AND Tthey have fans who buy stuff. Unlike barrel racing where  mostly the people watching are are the people running

Myself, I don't think taking money from the 1D is going to bring more 3D and 4D people.  They will come regardless..........years ago, they got nothing.  The D concept has given them a chance to win money.  And I think that is a good thing.  I think it will reduce the people running their good horses.....depending on how much difference you are talking about.  But the proof will be in the pudding.  I can't see this new payout increasing the numbers but then I guess the producers must think so or they wouldn't do it.

I think all the big entry fees, all the tacked on charges and the fuel prices are hurting barrel racing right now.  The income is not increasing at the speed of all the expenses being added on.  Pretty soon only the wealthy will be able to go down the road.

I don't think that is right otherwise there would be 100's or even 1000's at a show with a $20 entry fee instead of 1000's at a $100 entry fee barrel race

What if the added money was divided proportionally among the D's instead of split equal among the 5 divisions?
