HAVE MY HORSES AT A TRAINER AND I AM HAVING A LOT OF LEG PROBLEMS GOING TO AND FROM THE VETS . THE VET SAID I NEEDED TO STEP BACK AND REALLY LOOK AT THE PICTURE SOMETHING IS WRONG… REAL WRONG
where is the best place to start running to your first barrel (meaning where should your pocket be)?
Hi, I have a barrel horse I have been competing on for almost 18 months, I trained him myself and in the beginning if I didn’t wear spurs he would drop his shoulder coming into his drums, so over the next twelve months I always wore spurs in competetion, he improved greatly in his pattern and eventually would constantly be just out of the money. Many people would say things like ‘your horse is running funny’ or ‘he’s not stretching out’. So a couple of months ago I took a gamble and took my spurs off in
I am just now building an outdoor arena in Denver. Just got a bid from an excavation company for $100,000.00 to put in the soil, crushed granite and sand. Is there any place to get good specifications on proper ground work for an arena floor. The approximate size of this arena is 250′ x175′. Thank you any guidance will be greatly appreciated. I am not qualified to advise you on this subject but I believe if you will do a search for “arena ground preparation†you may find some good reading that will answer your question or
i have my frist rodeo to go to. in sept 5 or 7 and my hust to ran on barrels a 35….. some thing and now he rideds a 20.057how can i ggt him faster?
any of the “know-it-alls” at my stable tell me he is being worked too hard and I should be careful of problems with his legs
My horse is not firing away like he should and driving to his point. His approach and back side is very snappy however once he is leaving he is sloppy and I lose time cause I am having to force him to get over
HE IS NOT QUITE A FINISHED BARREL HORSE, I JUST FOUND OUT HE IS BLIND IN HIS LEFT EYE
When first started working with (blue) He was running any where from a 20 to a 24 in barrels and 30s in poles.
My 6 y/o gelding has alwasy been in excellent competition shape untill last year. Due to a large move, change of job & purchase of a new ranch, he has been turned out to pasture (65 acres), since last Sept
I read the post on the website about how you like for them to go 4-6 miles at a long trot and lope and then do some additional walking, but do you work on the pattern much?
I have a six year old gelding we bought about two months ago. He was already trained by the other owner so we took it slow to get used to him
I have a 6 yo gelding I’m working with. I like him alot, but when I ask for a stop at a lope he will take an extra stride or two and sometimes roots his nose out
i paid alot of money for a horse out of texas around 6 months ago that had a great winning record
