Amarillo, Texas, February 7, 2006 — The American Quarter Horse Foundation proudly announces that Dr. John Yost of Hastings, Nebraska, has been honored with the prestigious 2005 Merle Wood Humanitarian of the Year award. The Merle Wood Humanitarian of the Year award annually recognizes an individual who exemplifies humanitarian qualities. Among his many contributions to the industry, Yost is well known for his charity toward therapeutic riding. He co-founded and assists at the Saddle-Up Handicapped Riding Club in Hastings.
