FORT WORTH, TEXAS— Jessica Asay from Toms River, NJ, has recently received the 3,500 hour award in the American Paint Horse Association’s (APHA) Ride America® program. Her partner on the trails is How Dee Sensation, a 12-year-old chestnut tobiano gelding, better known as “Callahan.†For their accomplishments, Asay and Callahan receive a special commemorative patch from APHA, a special achievement certificate and one ton of horse feed from APHA sponsor Kent Feed. Nominations for one of the American Quarter Horse Association’s most unforgettable awards close September 30, 2006. This special award is a way to honor American Quarter Horses that affect the lives of humans through outstanding training, contribution or accomplishment. The nominee must be a living, registered American Quarter Horse, and AQHA ownership records must be current at time of entry. In addition, the owner of the nominated horse must have a current AQHA membership.
