BRUCELLOSIS HERE TO STAY

CODY, WYOMING – Wyoming’s chief wildlife veterinarian says Brucellosis is probably here to stay. Dr. Terry Kreeger says in the history of wildlife management, no disease has ever been eliminated, and he predicts brucellosis will be in the Greater Yellowstone region for decades to come. Kreeger gave a seminar on Western wildlife diseases in Cody Tuesday night. He reported Wyoming has all the major ungulate diseases, except tuberculosis. He said Blue Tongue, or Hemmoragic disease kills more deer in the U.S. and Wyoming than any other malady. For more info click here

Sixteen New West Niles Cases Reported in NE

Sixteen new cases of West Nile virus have been reported to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services since last week.  That brings the total number of cases reported so far this year to 98.  There have been three deaths. For more info click here
