A hearing is set in Clarke County General District Court this morning to determine who will gain custody of eight horses seized from a property on Wycliffe Road after law enforcement and equine rescue officials investigated a report that they appeared to be starving. The hearing is also to decide whether the horses were abandoned, treated cruelly, or deprived of adequate care, Commonwealth’s Attorney Suzanne “Suni” Perka said Monday.
