AQHA Partners with Reining Horse Sports Foundation on Expanded World Equestrian Games Television Coverage

The American Quarter Horse Journal, July 24, 2009 – The American Quarter Horse Association, the official Breed Sponsor of Reining at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, announces its partnership with the Reining Horse Sports Foundation to expand television coverage of reining on the opening weekend of the Games. Reining will be the main competitive feature element of NBC’s opening 90-minute broadcast coverage. HOUSE PASSES MUSTANG MANAGEMENT BILL

A bill promoting increased on-range management for wild horses and burros came closer to becoming law July 17 when the U.S. House of Representatives passed it 239-185. Introduced by Natural Resources Committee Chairman Nick Rahall (D-W.Va.) HR 1018, the Restore Our American Mustangs Act, amends the Wild Horse and Burro Act of 1971 to allow the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to increase acreage available to free roaming herds, and to develop wild horse and burro sanctuaries on public lands. Continue reading…

AQHA ANNOUNCES 2010 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES

America’s Horse, July 22, 2009 – Three individuals and three horses will be inducted into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame during the 2010 American Quarter Horse Association Convention, March 5-8 in Kissimmee, Florida. The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame was established in 1975 to honor people and horses instrumental in the development of the breed and the American Quarter Horse Association.
