Effort aims to rescue horses: Farm diverts animals from slaughterhouses

The Cottrellville Township woman — who founded Day Dreams Farm Therapy and Rescue Inc. in March — is working to keep those horses from crossing the Blue Water Bridge, destined for meat-processing plants in Quebec. There, they are slaughtered for human consumption overseas. Bond set at $100,000 for farm worker accused of animal cruelty

MARYSVILLE, Ohio The Ohio Department of Agriculture cited Conklin Dairy Cattle Sales today for its failure to properly dispose of dead cows. The Conklin farm along Rt. 42 north of Plain City has found itself in the center of a storm since late Tuesday night when an animal-right group released a video of milk-house workers brutally beating and abusing cows and calves. The Marysville city prosecutor asked the state to step in yesterday and assist in the criminal investigation prompted by the video. Suspected horse slaughter in Florida county is confirmed by police

Where there’s blood, there’s probably a dead body nearby and for Miami-Dade horse owners, that’s bad news. Police have confirmed that a bloody van found Tuesday is the result of a horse slaughtered by black market poachers.
