Paint Horse Connection magazine pays tribute to APHA Facebook fans

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Spring issue of the Paint Horse Connection, the American Paint Horse Association’s member magazine, pays tribute to the more than 35,000 fans that have “friended” the organization’s Facebook page since it was created in May 2009. The magazine utilized innovative technology that allowed the award-winning graphics department at APHA to build the entire cover using photos submitted by APHA’s Facebook fans. North Dakota bill would let veterinarians and police seize pets

Legislators in North Dakota have introduced a bill that would allow police and veterinarians to seize animals they believe are being treated inhumanely. A public hearing on the measure is set for Friday, Feb. 11, 2011. As introduced, Senate Bill 2365 would grant a law enforcement officer or licensed veterinarian the right to take custody and control of an animal if there is “reasonable cause to believe” that the animal has been subjected to activity prohibited by state laws pertaining to the humane treatment of animals. Horsewhipping Study Whips Up Controversy

People have been whipping racehorses since time immemorial, but until now there has been little research into whether it actually goads them into running faster.
