Obesity in horses brings serious health risks

Horses have become more sedentary in the last 50 to 100 years as they’ve been used less for ranching and transportation and more for recreation, said Shannon Moreaux, a veterinarian who heads Montana State University’s Equine Science Program. AQHA: Incentive Fund Payout Increase

The 2010 American Quarter Horse Association Incentive Fund per-point payout is higher than in 2009. The American Quarter Horse Journal — In 2010, horse owners showing American Quarter Horse Association Incentive Fund-nominated horses earned more money per point than in 2009. More than $3 million will be divided among nominated foals that earned a total of 125,706.5 points – making the payout $24.01 per point.
