2 horses in Montana test positive for equine infectious anemia

Two horses in Gallatin County, Mont., have been confirmed to be infected with a rare and transmittable disease known as equine infectious anemia. The state’s Livestock Department said the horses might have acquired the virus at an out-of-state event. The agency determined that some 35 equines might have been exposed to the infected horses, but the outbreak is not expected to have a far-reaching effect.
