FORT WORTH, Texas – APHA Lifetime Leading Sire Zippos Sensation died July 10 at age 23. Simons Show Horses of Aubrey, Texas, owned the 1993 sorrel overo stallion and it was under their guidance that he became a pillar in the Paint Horse industry. In honor of his substantial legacy to the breed and to support youth scholarships, the Simons family has created an American Paint Horse Foundation endowment. Overall entries up, more scholarship prizes offered, lots of smiling new faces APHA successfully concluded the 2016 American Junior Paint Horse Association (AjPHA) Youth World Championship Show on July 9 after 13 days of premier competition for youth ages 18 and under, as well as specialty ranch horse and cutting events. FORT WORTH, Texas – Make plans to include a few extra horses in your 2016 APHA World Show lineup: the APHA Executive Committee recently approved a motion that will allow solid Paint-bred horses with two Regular Registry parents the opportunity to compete in most non-world championship classes alongside their Regular Registry counterparts, based on feedback from the World Show Advisory Committee.
