FORT WORTH – The American Paint Horse Association successfully concluded the 2019 APHA Youth World Championship Show after 9 days of premier competition for youth ages 18 and under aboard American Paint Horses. In addition, all world championship cutting classes (Open, Amateur and Youth) were held during the show. The event took place at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas, June 24–July 7 in conjunction with the Appaloosa World Championship Youth Show and incorporated several other events including a Jr American Super Qualifier and the ACHA Cowtown Cutting. On April 20 the Equine Disease Communication Center (EDCC) reported that another Clark County, Nevada, horse has tested positive for non-neuropathogenic equine herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1). Please be aware Equine Herpes Myeloencephalopathy (EHM), the neurologic disease linked to Equine Herpes Virus (EHV-1), was confirmed in a Glasscock County Quarter Horse on April 16, 2019.
